    Did he really eat four ghosts with each power pill? I thought that after one of the early levels (about 13 IIRC) that the power pills no longer turned the ghosts blue.

    I knew I was on dangerous ground when I was thinking of kind of a tautology. And I take my hat off to you for that fine word which I admit to having to look up. Here is the definition from m-w.com, which is bordering very closely as an example of the word it defines:

    the use of more words than those necessary to denote mere sense (as in the man he said)

    A phrase I will have to remember next time I'm in an all day meeting with the PHBs. Although I think the meaning is more to do with redundancy than self contradiction and meaningless filler

    With the letters E, P, O and N they could have at least been OPEN (Optical Passive Ethernet Network), or more sinisterly PEON. This may have highlighted that an ethernet network is kind of a tautology.

    In the Daily Mirror in the UK is a fiendish general knowledge crossword. Finding the answers to the questions on the net is good for teaching search engines, and some of the big info sites (e.g. imdb, britannica, expedia). It also helps for bookmarks, as similar categories of questions often come up.

    Are you trying to say that reading the bible daily is good for marriage? In which case you meant "Only 0.1% of couples that read the bible daily get divorced". What you actually said seems more likely

    I.e. if 0.1% of all couples read the bible daily then 100% of all couples that read the bible will get divorced?

    Or another way 99.9% of all couples neither read the bible daily nor get divorced

    More recent MUDs (e.g. the stuff by simu) have a server enforced time that each action will take, as well as maximum buffered inputs for zero time commands. They still have problems with scripters of course, the battle continues...

    On monday I watched a documentary on the history channel about the CIA in Iran. I don't know who bank-rolls the channel, but I'd reckon they aren't small.

    WAP has provisions for identifying the user agent. It can use the data from this to provide customized content for larger sizes if it wants. Its too much effort (money) for most people to do, so they go for the lowest common denominator.

    Yes, but any 16 year old with a cable modem and a CD burner can download a copy of any Linux distro and have a REAL, robust, scalable server OS to play with, free of charge.

    They'd probably need a computer too, unless they can operate the interface on their peripherals manually somehow. Then I wouldn't put that past kids today, won't be long until they're directly wired.

    OS X simply maximizes the convenience of the Internet. Its connection wizards make connecting to the Net as easy as thawing a hot dog

    Damn, I was about to go out and but a Mac, but I've never thawed a hot dog and I don't fancy learning now

    If I put a 21" CRT on my desk at home it would fall right through it (£20 crap from MFI that it is). I've no room for a bigger and stronger desk. Just a shame that I can't afford a big LCD (yet).
