I loaded this article and then went to a lecture when I came back I read it. I had forgotten what it was but I became enraged at the stupidity of congress.

John your a journalist aren't you? Aren't they supposed to be objective? I thought you said that journalism still had integrity.
This is definately not from terrorism. NZ has had one international terrorism event and that was when the french came in and bombed the rainbow warrior.
Unless you have planet-sized wireless comunications, this is to be expected.
Wireless links are even easier to take down. Just get a van and a signal jammer and drive around, if you cut a wire it can be fixed but if they can't find where the signal jammer is located they can't do jack to fix it.

The reason it doesn't work for females is because they have two X heterosomes (Chromosomes that determine gender) one of which comes from the father and one from the mother, whereas males have and X chromosome and a Y chromosome. The Y chromosome only comes from the father and so should remain (relatively) similair between members of the same family
