To commit suicide knowing the consequences, you have to grasp the concept of mortality. Now I fully believe that animals have feelings, emotions, and thought. But to say that an animal understands that it's going to die one day is a bit of a stretch I feel. When an animal sees another dead thing, do they know that it will happen to them one day?
Of course animals will die to protect their young. And of course they're afraid of pain. You don't need a knowledge of mortality to be afraid of pain. Animals (including humans) are sparing about suicidal behavior because it's painful. Now a human who doesn't feel pain will still not want to die because they're aware of their mortality and are afraid of "where they will go", and they "don't want it to end".
What of animals who can't feel pain? I'm willing to bet they won't care about their "life" as much since I doubt they're aware of themselves as mortal creatures.
Anyone who starts a moral sermon with "Son" is appealing to emotions and not logic in order to hide their own lack of reason. You can dismiss what they say right from the start.
There's so much wrong with this bullshit that I don't even know where to start. So I won't. I'll just let this stand here as a testament to the sanctimonious bullshit that people can spew out.
Anyone who thinks suicide is easy hasn't tried it. Trust me, staying alive is evolution's biggest imperative. Going against that takes tremendous courage and a careful analysis and calculation that life isn't worth living - it's possible that the true wimps are those that don't have the guts to end it. Suicide is also a uniquely human trait.
I hope that when the time comes I'll have the courage to slit my throat if it's the right and logical thing to do.
If I were facing decades in jail and I didn't deserve it and I knew I was being persecuted, I might well commit suicide. If you don't consider it, there's something wrong with you since you obviously don't value your freedom too much.
So? Google can hardly be held responsible for search engines being hard to build. And anti trust is meant to protect customers and consumers - not competition.
Bottom line - if customers don't like what Google is doing, they can move away at the click of a button. What more is there to be said about this?
Microsoft was making it difficult for a customer to purchase a PC without Windows installed. It was also making life difficult for third party browsers. All of which limited customer choice.
In the search market, customers have all the choice in the world. No lock in. No costs of switching. Nothing.
But there's no lock in or barrier to switching. In such cases, having a monopoly is meaningless. If customers don't like Google promoting its products they move to another search engine.
1. People use Google because they think it gives the best results 2. If Google promotes its own products, it either makes their results better or worse 3. If it makes their results better, no one complains 4. If it makes their results worse, customers shift to another search engine (no barrier or lock in remember)
Apple is stopping this game from being installed on iOS using ANY means. Not just from the iOS app store. Let them allow users to sideload apps and then no one can blame them.
Let users have a checkbox saying "Install from untrusted sources at your own risk etc etc". Trust me - no one will blame Apple for offensive games installed that way.
I guarantee that no one is stupid enough to blame Apple for the the political content of an app that runs on iOS. Do you blame Microsoft for a violent PC game you bought form elsewhere?
Umm...who's talking about subsidies? I was talking about saving money because of the lesser fuel consumed. Have road tax as a separate charge and don't link it to fuel consumed. That's just stupid.
I carry my nook around in my hand wherever I go. Literally wherever. If I need to wait in a queue, I pull it out for a few minutes worth of reading. Waiting for a movie to start? Do some reading. And a single charge lasts for almost a month.
There is no way I'm carting around a heavy tablet double the size. Not to mention I want to keep my eyes from exploding after a while.

This is only true if there was a kid solely dependent on me. Otherwise the rest of the people in my life can go screw themselves :D

What exactly is the problem here?
Shocking! They're as bad as Microsoft!
Oh wait...

No.
So you're saying what....? That people don't have the right to complain?
The email is the service I'm using on the net. This is about net neutrality not email neutrality.
You already HAVE the choice to not see ads by not visiting my blog. Why the fuck do you need an ISP to make that decision for you?
Because a certain ad company *google* makes my life (and those of others) far...FAR...better.
I don't mind ads...at all. Seriously. And I don't think most people care either.
Umm...who's talking about subsidies? I was talking about saving money because of the lesser fuel consumed. Have road tax as a separate charge and don't link it to fuel consumed. That's just stupid.
Then permanently separate road tax from fuel for everyone. Bottom line - fuel efficient vehicles need to provide a financial benefit to their owners.
As a responsible citizen, it's up to you to ensure that whatever you do doesn't violate any patents.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Enjoy!
And people wanted countries like China to have a say in the UN about how the Internet is regulated.
Lol.
B..but...but what about the BILLIONS of dollars Apple has spent on R&D thinking up pinch to zoom, rubber banding, and rounded corners?
Billions I say!

I read a lot and LCD screens don't hold a candle to ereader screens. For the sake of my eyes...I will always use E-ink.
I find it tough to accept that eternal hell can ever be a punishment for anything no matter how monstrous.
