I got to read some of this book in my logic class. Being a philosophy major with a music background, I found this book both informative and exciting. The short stories with Achillies were great, as was all of the writing. It takes a skilled hand to take bone dry musical/numerical theory and transform it into interesting practical stories. I'd recommend it just for the fun stories--especially if you like theory (musical or otherwise).
Yep folks, that's right. He told me himself, well, I suppose he just referred to himself as a 'hacker'. When I attempted to pick his brain about linux I promptly got stuffy, vague replies saying that I would probably have to do a lot of 'hacking' to get linux running. Then he was just not interested enough in talking to me, so he ditched our conversation. Well, my linux is up and running (PPC rev4, kernel 2.1.125, Hummin'!). How 'bout you Katz?
The *idea* of customization is great, but when I tried to 'personalize' my slashdot I got cyberspew from your machine. So maybe there are still a few bugs to work out...
ps. the images aren't even loading correctly. pps. I hope you get it fixed, I'm excited about my own little personal slashdot to hold and to love and to squeeze...
PB 520 are the worst. It took me 3 hours to get a damn internal modem in the thing. By far on of the most inaccessible designs, expecially if you have big hands.
Is java as cross-platform as it says it is? I want to learn java, but most of the books I've looked at are based in wintel. I'd rather learn on my native platform, I'm an absolute beginner as it is and I don't want to have to change machines if possible.

I didn't leak the skinny on the P1, it was the Furby You know, I don't know who is more paranoid, the government or the people.
