" I have taken a bunch of math classes, studied statistics in grad school, learned the R language, and read tons of books on the subject. Despite all of this I'm not at all confident in my understanding of such a vast topic." I'm presented with 1 of 2 scenarios. Either he is smart and I should not bother studying statistics because it is vast and complicated and should only do research on a as needed basis. Or He is stupid. And I should just ignore the guy completely.

  2. LMAO on France Considers 'Pirate Tax' For Online Ads · · Score: 4, Insightful

"The report was written by Patrick Zelnik, Guillaume Cerutti and Jacques Toubon. Zelnik is president of Impala, a network of independent record companies." They didn't even bother to get a 3rd party to write this toilet paper of a report. Isn't this basically like making the average tax payer insure a business against the possible theft of an intangible object?

Sounds like I need to incorporate myself just for my online presence. That way when I get sued for pissing everyone off I can just close my business down. We (USA) missed the chance to sue Canada. Seriously I'm a legal clusterfuck but at least i know the difference between Defamation and Libel. Sometimes I feel like I should be deported because I no longer conform to the you hurt my feelings now I'm going to sue you mentality. Can they yank my citizenship because I'm not totally patriotic to the USA legal system yet?

  5. Puppet on Cybersecurity Czar Job Is Useless, Says Spafford · · Score: 4, Funny

A real security czar would be the man or woman behind the curtain. With a limp, a raspy voice, and insist that they are always watching us watching them watch other people who watch Ebay watching people selling watches trying to find the best watch to buy. Even when the security czar knows that everyone just uses cell phones now instead of watches. Thats why he must watch the watch watchers.

Great now we've lost faith in nerds, the only ones left we can trust are the lawyers, bankers, and realtors.

That's one fucking big swear jar. Why couldn't they enact this law while George Carlin was still alive. R.I.P. George you never knew how much you are missed.

  8. Bill Nye the Crosseyed Guy! on How To See In 3D On Your iPhone · · Score: 1

You mean there were crosseyed people back before the 20th century? I have a feeling tomorrow microsoft's team of lawyers will begin to patent a process enabling a user to cross their eyes for a 3d operating system to compete with Apple's. I still like wikipedia's example better they have nice yellow dots you can use to calibrate your eyes to. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:XEyeStCdNYCSmall.jpg
