  1. poor suckers on Global Warming: Do You Believe? · · Score: 1

It's unfortunate that although many scientests do not believe that humans are causing the earth to warm, they are ignored for the "better story" which is picked up by the media. So in essence, our friend jon katz is not saying that global warming will be a big issue, but that the media has begun to play more and more of a role...control of information..fun stuff (kind of like the "microsoft is evil" stuff that comes from slashdot :)

  2. Confused Poster on The Presidents Technical Advisor · · Score: 1

Hobbes...who wants to put chips to track you? not industry..the govt (or bill's gov't anyway) was the one that wanted a hand in every part of you life...the industries just want to make money...so do I...so sue me.

  3. JonKatz American? on Hyperreality: The U.S-China Standoff · · Score: 1

Hmmm maybe JonKatz could just move to China...he seems to think that the US should apologize for something that is not our fault. And, not, our army is not trying to be "macho" by not giving into a communist country's ridiculous demands. It appears that Jon is very gullible to what the media tells him. Oh well, whats new?

  4. We still have a constitution... on Star Wars Most Violent Movie Ever? · · Score: 1

Its very sad that you think that the Attorney General could or would try to ban movies like that. I know you are used to living under the clinton regime, which decided not to follow laws or the constituion, but you aren't going to see that kind of attitude now (like sending Elite forces into florida to "capture" Elian) ...or i guess if you are so afraid of this, you could always move to like, uzbekistan?

  5. If Bush is an idiot, so is Gore on Dark Hearts And The Net · · Score: 1

I think that it is very important that while we hear all of these things from candidates, it is while they are attempting to get elected. Sure, we may get offended because Bush says the net causes violence, but at the same time, Gore thinks that violence is because we don't have enough laws (what is it now, 8000 gun laws and counting) So obviously they are both wrong, but they are also both trying to find people that agree with them...this does not necessarily mean that GW is an idiot, although we may not agree with this strategy of campaigning
