Ho ly cow. First I've heard of Bester, but after I saw this thread, I Amaozn'd it and read it in about two (busy) days... Bester had it nailed - in '53. Just about the best book I've ever read, in any genre - and required reading for anybody even remotely interested in SciFi/tech/etc. - Marc
