the way it's going to work is that the "open source" project is samba. i started the "NT Domains for Unix" project as a samba development to get NT workstation logins. it turns out that you need NT printing, as well. so, HP is paying to have NT-style spoolss code in samba. looking through some of the other postings...... yes, because there do not exist any NT-style drivers for linux, we are either going to have to get HP to write these, OR, we support NT printing "RAW" mode only. be interesting to see if HP bites on a GPL license for NT-style HP drivers for linux! http://samba.org
