I work seven days a week, where I manage about 150+ desktops out in the field, over 150+ email accounts and several dozen mobile phones. I am also hosting high traffic websites. This may not sound like much to many people out there, but I am constantly under pressure and yes, anxiety does kick in.
Even though I work out 3 times a week (strength training) I am still under stress. My social life is a train wreck, where I rather stay in a veg out on the weekends. Mind you, I have friends and plenty of relationships with the opposite sex, but lately it's just too much for me to handle. I come home and the last thing I want to do is talk to another human being.
One thing that helps is 5-HTP. I pop 100mg in the morning and the rest of the day goes by with little worry. Sometimes, I combine it with a bit of melatonin to have a nice deep sleep (with very vivid dreams). I wake up feeling a bit more refreshed, leading to a better day.
TPB is known to be the largest (pirated) tracker in the world. He was curious to see if his program was listed. As a software developer myself, I've done searches on popular trackers too for my software.
That is exactly how I upgrade my computers. I usually buy the CPU/RAM/Motherboard at the same time, as chipset technology also involves. Video cards are every 2 years: I plan to keep my 8800GT for my i7 upgrade. Later this year, I'll pick up two new nVidia GTX 470 or 480s.
However, at this point, I am more interested in the future of LGA 1366...
A client I dealt with 1-2 years ago is still on NetSol. I told him to switch over hosting and registrar companies, but he thought I was out to nickel and dime him (I offered him a 15$/month hosting plan...). Poor sob, all his sites are now down.
I agree with 6.5 being an improvement: I've been using Da_G's "stock" ROM and have noticed a more responsive interface and increased battery life. The new IE is actually decent for a change.
While I have a MBP 13.3 for dev work, it currently lacks:
Docking port + station
User-swappable battery. However, the 7 hours of battery life it brings is pretty decent, even while working with WiFi. You can, of course, just grab an external battery power pack from a vendor off the web.
Still, it's a good buy. I'd forget bootcamp and just virtualize the other OS with vmWare Fusion.
For a one-time fee of 25$ USD, you will get the best Win32 ad blocking software out there. I haven't seen an ad, popup or any other type of advertisement since AdMuncher first came out. If only they made it for OSX...
What I did with my Dell 700m back in the day was buy it, unwrap it, boot it up and format with a XP Home OEM disc I downloaded off the web. I just used the same license key and didn't experience any WGA notification issues. I then downloaded the drivers for the graphic, chipset, etc. and had a fresh new installation without the bloat.
Amen.

Facebook DOES pass personally identifiable information, albeit inadvertently.
As a Facebook Ads user, I have tracked down people who have clicked my ads EASILY.
How?
Your unique Facebook user ID is passed through the refer string each and every time you click on an ad.
Simply copy down this ID and paste it in the USERID variable below.

Tada.
Google's working on cars that drive by themselves.
What the fuck is Microsoft innovating?
Facebook is just a fad...
I would like to think that true geeks learn at a quicker pace than most people, and are generally more adept at problem-solving.
Why not train the geeks to understand all the technical details?
Not trolling, but how's 1080p x264 playback with that setup? I have a Popcorn Hour A100 (old-school) that does it all except DTS audio... :\
You show him! I've had enough of Cold Pizza as well!

Not true. When my 8800 GT failed (and wasn't being sold anymore) BFG sent me a 9800GT as a replacement.
Yes they did. I've owned 3 of their graphics cards (6800, 8800GT and 9800GT) and only one of them failed. They quickly replaced it without trouble.
For those looking to go towards a similar manufacturer, I hear eVGA is pretty good. They also offer a lifetime warranty like BFG.
