Whilst they have it better than anyone else in Africa, the facilities at the best universities and the quality and impact of the research that leaves there is not on the same scale as in the USA, Canada, UK, other major EU powers, Japan, China, India. Similarly the quality of the education system in SA is generally below that of Europe, North America and Asia.
