Yes. Given that typically for that person with the 1-2 year degree they have worked longer than I have to get the same pay. After a few years in the field I consider time on the job to vastly out weigh time in school.
I did my Bachelor's degree just for the piece of paper to start a career. Since then I found most of the real learning happens after college, both on the job and on my own time. I then went back for a Master's degree to separate myself from the average engineer. However I think the most important thing I learned from going back to school is I didn't need to go back. I keep looking at taking classes since I last graduated and keep deciding I can learn those topics on my own just fine.
I wish they were timed properly in my area. I tend to drive with a cruise controller for a bit more gas efficiency (or my inability to control my right foot properly...), on most of the streets in my area many lights are synchronized but about every five miles there is one sstreet that is not on the usual grid pattern and always seems to be out of synch.
Personal data that no one else needs to see? Sitting on my HD behind firewalls that should keep it where I put it. If it is really private data and rarely used I may keep it on a CD sitting on a shelf. No guarantees in life though.
Private data that I want to work on at multiple locations but will not be catastrophic if someone else gets ahold of it? On a NAS at home, behind those same firewalls and wired into the network. Should be about as secure as sitting on my HD but if someone manages to hack my router and NAS... well...
Limited shared data? Now I start wandering into the cloud and Dropbox seems pretty good to me so far. Never actually leaves my hard drive but is available for others I choose to play with. Am hoping no one ever hacks that account but I knew the risks when I put it there.
Stuff I want to make public and don't really care much about? At this point I don't particularly care which cloud has it so long as they are fairly stable.
When a tool allows for lower entry level, it brings the average quality of the product down. This doesn't mean a competant developer cannot properly use the tool.
I've wondered for a while if the preservation of knowledge has exceeded the value of evolution. The internet is great as an information repository but having people with first hand knowledge and experience is so much more valueable. Possibly in the future the need to evolve will exceed the need of knowledge but at the moment, it seems like human potential with knowledge has execeeded present life spans.

So is it likely that we will shortly have a new universe start forming in the middle of our current one?

I wasn't making commentary about it, just answering the question...
Is there anywhere in North America that you can even buy flood insurance any more?
Anywhere that doesn't get flooded? Ever? Even by 1000 year floods?

And yet they try to make tablet computers do everything a PC does (or at least claim the tablet is taking over from PCs).
Couldn't tell you, they at least do some incineration in my area: http://www.accesskent.com/Depa...
Not sure the wasted food should be placed on Costco's doorstep or on the peanut processing plant.
Looks like that may not work quite so well yet with peanut oil, at least for biodiesel: http://www.renewableenergyworl...
I swear if people lived within their means the entire economy would crash...
So less patent infringement and more copyright issue?
If they don't delete local files, I'll wait and see before claiming the sky is falling.
And the cost at those local state universities is usually pretty good.
Yep but at least I never lose control of a copy, even if someone else's servers also have my data now.
Depends on what that data is.

Or in other circles known as follow the leader (Netflix).
True, the CDN does not violate Network Neutrality. Now if netflix or other apps are slowed down if they do not use the CDN...

Well if he had been happy with that and had not added Poland, France and a few other countries to the list...
You have my vote, where do I submit the ballot?

I have a cocker spaniel that keeps getting college enrollment offers. Maybe I should accept a couple on her behalf and send her into politics...
