Yes, they sold over 140 million PS2s and 105 million PS1s. Still have my first year PS2 working perfectly although a bit beat up and dusty. Only had to do single DVD drive lens adjustment a couple years ago. Same thing my Nintendo consoles.

It's shameful Microsoft put out such a defective and poorly designed console with the 360. They knew they were failing like crazy before the system launched and they went ahead and tried to deny it for over a year before finally having to spend the 1.1 billion on RRoD repairs.

It is ironic that some fanboy tried to use the astroturfing accusation. Microsoft was actually paying a company to have people sit around in gaming forums to do damage control over the RRoD issue. One of the people they were paying finally came clean on neogaf a year or so ago.

Vista, post SP1, though has turned out to be a fantastic OS. Too bad Microsoft is wasting their time with this Xbox fiasco and letting PC gaming die.

I can't believe how amazing Sony has been doing. Just got myself a PS3 and PSP a few weeks ago and absolutely blown away by the combo. Hooked up to a nice big 1080p LCD with a brand new sound system. In all my many years as a console gamer I've never seen a console that is so completely and utterly graphically dominant like the PS3 is. And I signed up for a Netflix account and have been watching a ton of BluRay movies. Once you go 1080p and lossless audio there is no going back to crappy DVDs ever again. And the PS3's DLNA capabilities hooked up to pulling shows off my DVR and streaming over WiFi to my PSP to anywhere in the house or outside is insanely cool. Kicking back out by the pool with a pair of head phones and my PSP watching TV shows being streamed from my PS3 inside is awesome. And of course the other big news blowing everyone away with the amazing things companies like EA are doing with Home make it staggering to think how incredible Home will be a year from now if it already is this good. Sitting around with some friends talking with them about my new setup I was saying how I couldn't really imagine how a PS3+PSP+1080p TV+7.1 audio+BluRay movies could be any better. And now this incredible 3D tech. Way to go Sony!
