  1. Please Explain This Crap on Gaza's Only Power Plant Knocked Offline · · Score: 3, Insightful

Please, someone explain to me how seemingly rational and normal people who seem to have it all together and seemingly hold a good sum of beliefs that can be called measured and critical can demonize Israel for defending themselves...in an amazingly measured manner I must say...in a lion's den of homicidal and genocidal area of the world against a people who will accept nothing but their destruction (it's in their charter or something) when all these other dudes (who happen to be a designated terrorist organization) by NATO..I think, at least by the US)...and.... ...you know what, fuck it. People who complain about Israel and make martyrs out of HAMAS are truly fucking deluded or stupid.

It depends on what role they want the F-35 to play, I've seen that it was designed alternatively either as a fighter or multirole aircraft. As a swing-role or multirole craft this could easily dominate. As a fighter, that is harder to see for the very reasons you brought up...size, drag etc...but the stealth and electronic warfare packages, which I assume this helmet plays a major role in monitoring and interfacing, might be a trump card that overcomes it's deficiencies in air-to-air and air superiority combat.

  6. Re:Big Deal on UN Report Finds NSA Mass Surveillance Likely Violated Human Rights · · Score: 1

The UN is far from a democratic organization, it's problems lie with the leverage the permanent Security Council has over it and the stagnated idea that it is still 1945. I admit that just complaining that it sucks at it's job isn't constructive and also that I have no better alternatives other than a reform of the power structure of it's leadership - but I think most everyone knows that will not happen, so I guess I'm done here.

If only citizens of countries that are models of competency are allowed an opinion on the UN's competency then we would have approximately zero valid opinions.

If anyone remembers the last few years of development for the RAH-66 Comanche and how it had to be scrapped due to compartmentalized co-development of the different systems jacking up the cost to astronomical levels for one unit just from inefficiency. It was a great stealth escort weapons platform - shelved and set the US fixed wing aircraft scene back years. I hope this one can cut it in a modern battlespace scenario.
