I'll be laughing hard if that did happen. But then cry while being stuck with Linux.
Overall, with OEM systems, there just needs to be a CD (or the install partition of the HDD) with fairly up to date release of the browsers that are affected, and when you first turn on the computer and all the drivers start to install, it comes up with a screen with a list of browsers and a text document with the pro's and cons of each. when the user chooses which one they want, the browser automaticly runs its own updates and thus all is avalible and information about each avalible at the same time. ofcourse M$ will still have to have IE installed as a backup but atleast its a step closer to ending this.
Also, why would the British Justice Secretary be asking for Americn currency in Nigeria? It's Pound Sterling or the Naira. Spammers need to research!
I hope no one in his address book fell for this as well. We British are not looking good in this article so far, CURSE YOU JACK STRAW!
The reason why they don't remove it completely is because it is used for alot of things in the system itself, not just for browsing. And rather than rebuilding the OS they just keep it the same way because they are lazy:P
so what you are saying is, pressure is only being placed on microsoft for only including IE with their OS because they have a higher share of the market?
So the law only applies to companies that are more powerful?
It seems that you mis-understand my point; I am all in favour of letting people have a choice of what browser they use, i dont use IE myself and i can guess you don't either, but rather than laying the law down on only one company shows bias, which is wrong. Maybe if there was more information about browers and which is best for what user regardless of what OS they use then the choice is there without forcing the install of products onto operating systems.
If you don't understand this yet you're either an idiot, a troll or an MS shill.
Just because I have a different opinion to you doesn't automaticly label me as an idiot/troll etc... I just can't believe that you resorted to name calling, it makes me sad;_;
Why is the focus just on Windows? Why isn't Apple being mentioned as being guilty of the same issue. I personally believe its because people just like to focus on Windows because it is easy. To make it as fair as people want it, why doesn't Microsoft just install EVERY interent browser, that way they all have an equal chance of a new user just picking their browser to go on the internet.
And in the end, average users are more likely to STILL pick IE as it is Microsofts and they will make the connection between IE and the OS and believe it the safest option (although the wrong option).
I think the inventor is just being anal about this.
That last poke pushed the "victim" over the edge!

That wouldn't work, they would be distracted by all the eye candy!
