Shouldn't the responsibility fall onto the French government to censor material that they do not see fit for their people? Sounds a little odd to me that they can force a US company to censor parts of itself for a particular country.
Oh...I know -- let's ignore the past. That will make everything much better.
From everything I've read, it's a pretty easy and painless operation with IDE cables, but don't touch those ATA66 cables unless you have a lot of money to spare.
The trick is to use your fingers (if you can) instead of a knife to avoid severing a cable.
The problem is that the cops can claim anything that they want and then it's your word over theirs. I had the very same problem about 10 years ago. What really sucks is when they claim that your pocket-knife is a criminal tool just to make you look worse.
You go to the poll, they hand you a card with a magnetic strip on the back. You scan it through the machine, make your vote (electronically) and then the card is useless (preventing people from using them more than once.) And, in order to get a card, you must have been registered to vote. Oh yeah -- and it asks you three times: Are you sure? Are you really sure? Are you sure you're sure?
Fairly well? You want a system that works fairly well? Electronic systems would allow for a quicker and more accurate vote tally. Of course, measures would need to be put in place to prevent fraud, errors, system crashes, etc. --
They said that once the card was slipped into the machine, that it was even more difficult. Um...here's a good question: why the hell are we using punch cards still for something as important as an election? Shouldn't we be using technology that isn't 50 years old?
My guess would be that '^^' is a 'translation error.' In the German language, there is extensive use of umlouts (sp? I only know how to pronounce it) -- that is, letters with two dots over them. That '^^' could have been a ë, ä, ö or ü.
Erm...if you want to 'mod' your case, mod yer case. If you want to put stickers on it, then it's not a mod. Right? My case has stickers on it, but I'm not brave enough to get out the hacksaw and dremel just yet!;^)
Oh yeah...if my case is in the gallery, and it just has stickers on it, just don't except it. Just shoot it down on the spot. In fact, download a picture of it, burn it, piss on it and bury it up-side-down. Tee heee!
You'd have to admit, though, that even some of the lamest cases get good comments. Oh and just because you put stickers on your case, doesn't make it a mod.;^)
The problem with "real" underground newspapers is that it costs money to produce them. You have to pay for paper and the ink, right? With a webpage, your costs are pretty much taken care of.
On the other hand, there's nothing like being there to hand out newspapers and having people ask you for them in class, etc etc. I'd have to agree with you: running an underground newspaper is a very personable thing.
Excellent point -- BMG and Napster are really going to have to plan this out a little better; just because you're in the news with a plan doesn't mean that you have every problem worked out. They're going to have MAJOR complaints from dial-up customers... --
But what the hell, it's Hallowe'en and I'm sure if you all appreciate hurling pumpkins, you can appreciate the Fire in the Bottle trick and Mission Imposible Midge: --
The only way to get decent download speeds (especially if you want Photoshop 6) is to shell out the $80/year and get a decent news-server subscription. Then, you can download to your heart's content -- you just have to wait for someone to post what you want and hope that all the parts are there. (SFV, right Rosie?)
Dumb game? Nonsense. Where else can you kill another human being with an AK47 and not face severe consequences for it?;^)
As for switching OS's tho -- when all the kinks are worked out and I can run Tribes and Counterstrike and anything else that comes down the pipe, THEN I will switch. Until then, I have to deal with hardware lockups and reboots. *sigh*
The government can't fix the problems that you have with raising your children. Schools can try to help, but in the end it's the parents responsibility to not just protect their children, but to teach them to think for themselves.
I couldn't agree more. When you try to [over]protect your child from disease by not letting them go outside, then later in life, their body will not be prepared for those diseases.
You need to let your children get out and experience life, but still provide moral guideance and advice where necessary. Lot's of parents just go on 'autopilot' and let the 'system' handle everything for them. The biggest problem with that is that the 'system' is severely flawed keeps churning out fucked up individuals. (hehehe ignore my link!;^)
I want to see a couple of these things locked in Gundam-style combat.

And be sure to watch out for those rouge UFO's that come in from the right side of the screen.

That's why they are charging a monthly fee instead of a 'by-download' fee. That way, you can try out all of the music you like...risk free.

Yes and then the colonies can send Gundams to Earth to over-throw the evil political powers. Woohoo! We're on our way!

I guess I'm going to have to invest in a surplus FBI Carnivore lock box and install an OpenBSD proxy into it. ;^)

This just in: trampolines are dangerous -- story at 11.
Just another example of how the media is dumbing down the public by leading them to believe in bad science.
