I've said it before -- let's combine the two sports: Geocaching and Wardriving. "There is a cache on an NT network at these coordinates. Take a file if you want, but please be sure to leave something in return.

ACID looks great...but it requires PHP.:^/
Does anyone have good information on how to compile Apache with mod_perl and PHP and SSL?
I can't wait for the day when this sort of technology (the ability to communicate with/through other units) comes to the PDA. Palm Pilots and Visors are on just about every desk here at the office and the ability to schedule meetings, send messages and (play games) over wireless would be very useful and widely used.
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it may help. Stick this in the httpd.conf of your mod_perl enabled Apache server:
# Nimda: Block incomming requests.
{
package Apache::Vermicide;
use Apache::Constants qw(:common:response);
sub handler {
my $r = shift;
if ($r->uri() =~/root\.exe|cmd\.exe|default\.ida/i) {
$r->push_handlers(PerlLogHandler => sub { return BAD_REQUEST });
return BAD_REQUEST;
}
return DECLINED;
}
}

The person who discovered this vulnerability has chosen to handle it irresponsibly, and has deliberately made this issue public only a few days after reporting it to Microsoft. It is simply not possible to build, test and release a patch within this timeframe and still meet reasonable quality standards.
Yes, but the MS logo doesn't cover the bottom right-hand corner of/. while you're reading it, does it?
I always thought that they put those logos on there to prevent people from making fairly-nice copies of movies they aired, etc. Now, it's reached the ridiculous stage: like the animated "Croctober" logo for Animal Planet. Branding is one thing, but geesh tone it down a bit! 15% transparency would be better than those full-colored monstrosities!
I pointed my webcam at myself a made a movie of me while playing quake...
Yeah? Well give it up! Did you have your tongue hanging out the side of your mouth? Did you weave left and right IRL to avoid getting hit? This could be very entertaining!
It would probably be a good thing if browsers followed the HTML standard. I can't tell you how annoying it is to make a decent looking website only to find out that your Netscape 4.7 users see garbage.

Hmmm... "dump it into a compact flash card" -- does the Audrey come with an interface or is this something else you have to buy? I have a compact flash card in my digital camera and it came with a USB interface slot device (from digitalfilm.com?) -- does this work?
I suppose Slashdot isn't the place to be asking this question, but it's the most readily available place.
Ok...suddenly the impulse buyer in me is saying, "I want one" and I need to quell that hunger. Can anyone who's purchased (and hacked) an Audrey provide us with more info. Is it worth it?
The next thing you know, they'll want control of all major routers; It's just one more step to bring the Internet under US control. Welp folks, it's time we built our own network...

Exactly. And don't forget that competition fuels even more innovation and drives down costs. This is why we are stagnating in the OS industry.
No need to upgrade, just remove the cap from the jar and shove a RJ45 plug into it; Works like a charm!

I couldn't purchase anything with a name like "Yopy". It reminds me of the Doctor Seuss book, "Horton Hears a Who."
YOP! YOP! Yop! yop! ...
Why isn't there a patch available for this issue?

Hehe.
It'll be nice in a year when these things are sold for $89.95 like the 3Com Audrey.
Wow. They give me 768kbps down and 480kbps up for $40 / month.
It's statements like this that make me glad I'm on DSL.
Too late: They're already adding neon.
You can change that or remove it.

Try alt.folklore.ghost-stories.
Older version of Netscape did not have good support for CSS.
If the same exact page renders completely different in two different browsers, then how is that not following the standard?

Could you give me a link for that? My little girls always want to play with my camera and they would love their own!
