It's a comforting thought to know that there actually is legal action being taken against those suckers. I find it very amusing to read how the spammer tries to struggle and fight back the cops:) I think it's a proof that he knows he's in deep trouble:)
English is a European language, and we're far more likely to say "Meet me on the 17th of April" over here.
You know what I meant;) Is it ok with you if i rephrase my previous post as: "Not in English it isn't, but in most continental European languages it is"... I was merely trying to point out the fact that dates can be pronounced different ways in English (March the 16th, 16th of March) but in some other languages there is only one way.
You don't speak dates like this: "Meet me 17 April 2004." It's not natural. Not in English it isn't, but in most European languages it is: French, Dutch, Spanish, German,... (those are just the ones I know.. surely there are more)
Some hardware to build a custom box: 300$ A planeticket to Kenya: 500$ Entrance ticket to a safari: 50$ The look on the taxidermist's face when you explain him what you planned on doing with that Panther you just shot: Priceless
Lets turn things the other way around. Hypotheticaly, do you think an American court would hesitate to fine a European company a big amount? As big as it might be?
Why did the Bush administration raised taxes on steel imports from outside the US?
Or more important, Jahf, does this mean that the color know as "red" could be associated by someone else to what I associate to "green" for example?
I've been pondering about this for realy some time. I don't know if i'm making myself clear. But in other words, could it be that "my" red = "your" green or other color??
I really do wonder what took the people at Sun so long to realise they should replace CDE with something "fresher". Frankly I think CDE was getting a little bit outdated. Hopefully this'll put Solaris closer to the people;)
Over here in Belgium, we have had unmanned speeding camera's for a couple of years now. They look like some fancy birdhouses and are positioned on stratagic locations (as in: 5 meters before red lights)
I don't know how this has had an impact on speeding. Fact is, those camera's aren't always turned on. They mostly act as a preventive measure.
My personal experience with those camera's is that after a while, you know where they are situated. Most of the time they're on express roads (mostly 70-90kph, +/- 40-55mph). All I do is slow down when approaching one, pass it at "legal" speed and then speed up.
I don't really see the privacy issues on this one...
I'm softwave, 22 years old, Belgian and involved in the demo scene since approx. 1992.
I'd just like to say thanks to all you guys for still showing some interest in the demoscene. I've read quite a few replies on the original article which made me get a warm feeling inside. It feels so good to hear from people that they share the same interest. You made me shed a tear... **sob** Thanks:,-)
I'll stick to my Debian Woody.
Your Woody is no match to my Longhorn

First of all, there is no tangible evidence that China is setting up a program to deploy arms in space, so your argument doesn't make sense.
On the other hand neither having American nor Chinese weapons (for one) in space sounds appealing.
Somebody ought to tell GWB that Men In Black was a JOKE! *rolls eyes*
Hey, if I were in Holland and I'd find pot on the street, I wouldn't hesitate to "borrow" it either :-)))

That's because you have to remove the spaces in the URLs.
By the way, why is Slashdot doing this? Have I missed something?
Comparing Macs and Windows machines, I'd say Macs have always been faster
I think what you mean is comparing macs and INTEL machines.
I aggree with your arguements to a certain extend, but you simply can't compare a RISC architecture to a CISC one.

Pure economical protectionalism, my friend.
