    It's a comforting thought to know that there actually is legal action being taken against those suckers.
    I find it very amusing to read how the spammer tries to struggle and fight back the cops :) I think it's a proof that he knows he's in deep trouble :)

    First of all, there is no tangible evidence that China is setting up a program to deploy arms in space, so your argument doesn't make sense.

    On the other hand neither having American nor Chinese weapons (for one) in space sounds appealing.

    English is a European language, and we're far more likely to say "Meet me on the 17th of April" over here.


    You know what I meant ;) Is it ok with you if i rephrase my previous post as: "Not in English it isn't, but in most continental European languages it is"... I was merely trying to point out the fact that dates can be pronounced different ways in English (March the 16th, 16th of March) but in some other languages there is only one way.

    You don't speak dates like this: "Meet me 17 April 2004." It's not natural.

    Not in English it isn't, but in most European languages it is:
    French, Dutch, Spanish, German, ... (those are just the ones I know.. surely there are more)

    I think what you mean is comparing macs and INTEL machines.

    I aggree with your arguements to a certain extend, but you simply can't compare a RISC architecture to a CISC one.

    Why did the Bush administration raised taxes on steel imports from outside the US?

    Or more important, Jahf, does this mean that the color know as "red" could be associated by someone else to what I associate to "green" for example?

    I've been pondering about this for realy some time. I don't know if i'm making myself clear. But in other words, could it be that "my" red = "your" green or other color??

    I really do wonder what took the people at Sun so long to realise they should replace CDE with something "fresher". Frankly I think CDE was getting a little bit outdated. Hopefully this'll put Solaris closer to the people ;)

  23. belgium on Traffic Cameras in D.C. · · Score: 1

    Over here in Belgium, we have had unmanned speeding camera's for a couple of years now. They look like some fancy birdhouses and are positioned on stratagic locations (as in: 5 meters before red lights)

    I don't know how this has had an impact on speeding. Fact is, those camera's aren't always turned on. They mostly act as a preventive measure.

    My personal experience with those camera's is that after a while, you know where they are situated. Most of the time they're on express roads (mostly 70-90kph, +/- 40-55mph). All I do is slow down when approaching one, pass it at "legal" speed and then speed up.

    I don't really see the privacy issues on this one ...

    Just my 0.02 :)

I've read quite a few replies on the original article which made me get a warm feeling inside. It feels so good to hear from people that they share the same interest.
