If /. is going to be spellchecked, I _demand_ there be a mandatory, new dictionary made exclusively for /.'s ispell!

Words like then, than, there, their and the likes shall be used interchangably and aluminum shall be known as aluminum only.

Finally these x86 drones will rock. Hope it's not all wapor, like the last years (96->) releases and rumours about amiga have been. I was going to convert my old 1200 into a tower and add some nics and stuff to it, but this AmigaOS 4.0/x86 sounds like a better deal. Except it's still x86.. :p
Hey, I might even get into my old programming habits, haven't really done any programming since i moved to x86's five years ago. Whoo, I really hope this will happen.

It's actually a way of radically cutting down on the half-life of radioactive material. And it was working very well too, let me say , until some disgruntled, unpaid engineer started to calculate on the half-life of plutonium:
Hey, wait a minute, it says here that after 10 years we should still have 500kg of plutonium in here instead of only five?

So, we have now termina- ah, fired the engineer and taken a restock of plutonium, and are pleased to say that none whatsoever is missing. Hey! You, letgo that can. Shoo.

As a further safety measure to avoid anything like this happening in the future, we are moving the aforementioned application to a windows XP/Access XP platform.
Thank you for your time and god help.

Really, this is starting to freak me. There have been attempts to smuggle radioactive material out of Russia before, and now there's no telling what is missing?? Ok, I'm gonna go make me a bombshelter now.

  10. Re:Stable now on Mozilla 0.9.2 Storms Out The Gates · · Score: 1
My wife has switched to Mozilla, that says a lot. One week now and zero crashes.

However, somewhat to my amazement, the keyboard input is unable to keep up with typing speed on a 233 MHz machine. It takes some talent to design such a topheavy keyboard input stack.

Have to agree on the stability, I've had my mozilla up since installing it. No crashes.

Also agree on the very slow keyboard input. I'm running at 300MHz and the response when typing a url is really crappy. (I only use the browser, so i don't know how the email/chatzilla is responding to input)

One thing that annoys me tho. The autocomplete was changed between 0.9 and 0.9.1 so it now is similar to IE.
Why the hell has this been changed? Can it be changed back into the old type-and-autocomplete-style??

Other than that mozilla is a great browser, and it's been fun to see the improvements over the releases. Been using it since 0.6 on my slackware box.

  11. Losing momentum? on Bill Gates Says GPL Is Like Pac-Man · · Score: 1

Hmm. I'd say the MS propaganda machine is losing momentum here, with Bill Gates having to step into the ring beside Ballmer, Mundie et al.
The FUD-campaign has been kinda limping upto now, with the free [beer] is not good! not stirring up too much dust, and discussions of Linux TCO vs. Windows TCO going down quietly as well. Ballmer comparing linux to a cancer? Oh dear.. Nice que for Bill to step up to.

So the perfect thing to do right now is to throw the [somewhat] infected GPL-discussion back at the Open source-movement, drawing the attention away from Microsoft and proprietary software/os. Now we have everyone discussing the GPL and Ms can keep pointing at free software and go "No good! No good!", till the dust settles.

Seems like Ms is running out of arguments in this discussion, so it's divide and conquer-time.
Look for personal insults aimed at ESR, RMS and Linus soon as well. ;)
