P(n) = 1 - (999/1000)^n = Odds of finding one over n planets
P(1) = 0.1% P(5) = 0.5% P(10) = 1% P(50) = 4.9% P(100) = 9.5% P(500) = 39% P(1000) = 63%
So with n=100 we have a reasonable possibility and with n=1000 we are still not sure.
