  1. Have Aeron at home, worthless crap at work on Aeron Chairs As Stupidity Barometers · · Score: 1

I spent a bit of time arguing with a previous boss about how crappy the USD$400+ chairs with custom fabric were, lousy adjustments, thick foam that didn't provide any sort of support. I bought an aeron for home with most of the bells and whistles and have been very comfortable with it. To answer previous comments, take the time to adjust the chair, don't slide your butt back and forth across the mesh and it won't act like a cheesegrater. I have found that sitting incorrectly in these chairs isn't comfortable, so if you slouch or sit on your feet get some 30 dollar used office thing.

  2. Pinball info on Is Pinball Dying? · · Score: 1

Bally/Midway was bought by Williams. Alvin G & Sons crumbled, Gottlieb closed their doors, Capcom closed down. Data East was bought by Sega. Williams decided to change the platform and set goals to be reached to continue business. They also decided to raise prices fouling an order that would have kept the business open. So on the Monday after the Pinball expo in Chicago, employees were notified that pinball was closed. Rumors stated that the only thing keeping Sega going was Joe Kaminkow's ego. Since he left to design for IGT Casino Gaming, they might not be long for this world. And the arcade divisions of many companies are going under or moving to home console work. All part of the current stay at home society that is being created.

  4. And another happy ins story on Workers - Including Linus - Left in Limbo by INS · · Score: 1

We put in for a H1B visa for our spectacular Yugoslavian candidate. The lawyers sat on it for a bit, and apparently it wasn't in the Fed hands until December, not October like we thought. The Feds lost track of the number of issued visas and stopped issuing them until they could figure out how many were left. Apparently they have just started handling those from last November... So where is the 'warning, you haven't posted in ages and we are going to slaughter your login' mails?
