I picked this up for my personal use. I used to use CS3 and the like for work and that was fine but I was tired of booting into Windows to help clients. I know game!designers use gimp. Gimp itself is a great product, I did notice that the book was solid but it left a lot to be desired in covering the lackluster interface. Your mileage may vary.
Totally overrated. Give me a target dummy or some 2d targets to wail on(ala http://wittyrgp.com) and I'm content. What happened to old-school style rpgs?
I fail to see the problem with always on internet. Sure, its not appropriate in some places but I couldn't imagine now having access to game! or youtube when I want them. Don't tread on me!
Frankly, I have a lot of time to waste at work. All I do is play games or read lol*funny animal*. I'm sick of the lol-phenomenon. Gave me a clever game(like wittyrpg.com) and I'm content for hours. Not sure where this craze started but I wonder what will replace it?
I like my HP because its a power-house. Its certainly lighter than a desktop. Whats the issue? I also like my X60T but it does come close to the power I can put out with my HP DV9000. So, I 'tough out' and carry my anchor around. More sissies.
Back breaking? I carry around a 17" HP DV9000 fully loaded laptop and barely notice it. Perhaps you should get some exercise. Certainly beats carrying around my old kit, 70lbs ruck-sack, 16lbs rifle, and ammo. Sissy.
Anyone know the procedure for detecting these? I imagine A/V companies setup 'honeypots' of sorts on high traffic networks and that but how do you detect something new like this? Do they track it through an old signature?
I'm curious, in your opinion what is a better use of my learning time? I'm learning bash scripting and python scripting at the moment as I am a sysadmin with a lot of time. What do you propose I learn instead?
No doubt content = money but I am curious, will you be targeting paid content or will paid membership just allow for some extra features? Nice to haves but not necessary.
Because newspapers and the like are faring so well. This is a great idea. It will simply kill off the industry. No wonder that Chinese blogger is investigating murders.
Also, why don't vendors include stickers for all OS' a piece of hardware will function with. My HP laptop shipped with a Vista-capable sticker but it works wonderfully with Debian/Ubuntu and it even works with my non-Vista-compatible digital camera!
What if they implemented something along the lines of 1 time credit card numbers. Imagine you could be assigned a very random set of characters associated with your identity that would allow you to register for services and only trusted sites had access to the 'true' information.
Then again, using a service such as this implies a central server with all the information and that is scary just by itself.

Oops, http://wittyrpg.com? I fail at interwebbing!

I can't help but think all the guys who get busted with kiddy porn are just victims of...you. Oh man...think of that one...*evil grin*

Really? I traveled weekly for 2 months carrying my personal laptop and my work laptop. Get a better bag.

Also, the Arctic is in fact an Ocean...Oceans contain salt which dramatically lowers the freezing point of water.
Freezing point of water changes with pressure. I imagine that these subs are not firing at the surface but rather below it?
Is Safari an integral part of the OS? Nope. Can you remove Safari? I think so but I haven't used a mac in ages.
There still seems to be a serious lack of Blackberry love from Android. Why is that? Any suggestions/guides for going about getting Android on mine?
Did they already release Conficker-Basic?
Something sinister is brewing inside..

Give me a K..DE!

Who cares, as long as it will run a Beowulf cluster!
The man IS watching you...through the news he feeds you(it contains tiny microchips with GPS functionality). Consider a diet high in fiber.

What about Vista-capable monitors? Never understood the point of that sticker on the base of my 22" LCD monitor.
