Lesson plans aren't required to do the job of teaching.
Actually, they are, at least in Texas. Teachers are required to turn in their lesson plans to the administration, basically as a way to guarantee they have something to teach and they're not just going to watch cartoons all day.
Cory Doctorow being sensationalist over a mundane "civil liberties" story? Well I never!
Next you'll be trying to tell me that Mike Arrington is anything but calm and levelheaded.
The SBSettings app caused lots of different programs to crash. Removing that app has fixed almost all of the crashing problems I've had. Now I definitely don't have any more apps crash on mine than my wife does with her stock firmware.
You also can't upgrade from previous versions of Windows with an OEM copy, nor can you transfer the license to a new machine - it gets tied to the motherboard it's first installed on, and while I've heard that you can sometimes give Microsoft a sob story about the death of your old machine and they'll activate the license on another box, it seems to be a pretty rare occurrence.
Basically, OEM licenses are intended to be installed once on a brand new machine, and when that machine dies, the license dies with it.
WoL over wi-fi is incredibly shady at best and impossible at worst. Want to bring all your machines up during off-hours for maintenance? Have fun walking around and physically powering on every one of them.
It's only marked as "critical" so that Windows Update will automatically download it. This makes sure that grandma and grandpa who don't ever download optional updates get a chance to use it. Once it's downloaded, it'll pop up an opt-in window, and if you tell it no thanks, it won't bother you again.
Don't really see what the big deal is.
...in space, no one can hear you scream?

I hear it does wonders for data recovery.

Dear Slashdot commenters: We know you don't actually participate in anything remotely resembling a sport. It's okay. Stop making up words.
What am I missing? Is the idea that people are going to complain about it until something changes?
