  1. Economy based on oil on Combining New/Old Approaches for Nuclear Fusion · · Score: 1

It's pretty clear that no cold fusion will be invented until the planted is 'nearly' totally wasted.
As soon as such device can be made, it will eventually be possible to integrate this into cars and home heaters. If this development would for example be introduced withing 10 years, a whole lot of country's economies will collapse, if not the world's economy.

So basically what I'm saying is: Don't hold yer breath.

  2. Re:Improper link - is really correct on IBM releases VisualAge for Java for Linux 3.0 · · Score: 1

Then why isn't Linux listed in the system requirements section?
Besides this, I don't have VA 2.0 for Microsoft 'platforms' (...) so, as probably most of you, I'm more interested in the retail price.

  3. Improper link on IBM releases VisualAge for Java for Linux 3.0 · · Score: 1

The link provided points to VA 2.0 for 50 bucks...
Proper link: VADD - How to buy it seems to be $149 minimum.

  4. Psion! on Linux on Palm · · Score: 1

Linux was already ported to the Psion 5 :-)

  5. Object modeling on 3D Window Manager · · Score: 1

I think designing my objects models for complex projects would benefit from 3D desktops. Not just 3D desktops though, a real 3D monitor would be quite useful.
A full object model nearly always goes behond the boundaries of my desktop/paper which implies different abstraction levels on each page. This not so bad, but a full 3D model representation would be really nice.

  6. Re:Web cam (@ Bill Clinton's) on RoboFly · · Score: 1

Hmm, I wonder if the White House got ventilation shafts :-)

  7. Web cam on RoboFly · · Score: 2

This will entirely change the concept 'Web cam'
Imagine users all over the net fighting over the controls of such cams at Jenny's :-)

  8. Electric fences on SlugBot, the Slug-Powered Slug-Hunting Robot · · Score: 2

Hum, I guess this will mean farmers also gotta buy huge electric-hazard fences to put along their property.
It would be highly profitable and easy for theives just to steel such devices found on the fields.
I wonder what's next.... robotic dogs feeding emselfs with theives? :-)

  9. RedHat 6.1 (kernel 2.2.12) on Creative Labs to open SB Live Drivers · · Score: 1

This is very good, I just upgraded to RH 6.1 and found out that the current SB-Live drivers weren't compiled for 2.2.12.
Now I'll be compiling it on my own next monday :-)

  10. Psion 5 SimCity clone from Purplesoft on SimCity for PalmOS Platform · · Score: 2

  11. We need more Fibre Optics! on Steven Spielberg to Produce Web Films · · Score: 1

I guess cable/tel companies better start putting loads more fibre optic cable in the ground ;-)
I'd really hate to see my q3test performance go down cause of ppl watching movies on the net in stead of television.

  12. What is exactly PAL Plus? on Widescreen TVs in the US? · · Score: 1

Does anyone know what exactly is the difference between PAL Plus and PAL (besides wide screen)?

  13. Re:Pal Plus on Widescreen TVs in the US? · · Score: 1

Hmmm, it would be better when the US just switches to Pal Plus also ( gradualy ) and in the mean time TV manifucturers support both NTSC and PAL/PAL Plus.

  14. Pal Plus on Widescreen TVs in the US? · · Score: 1

Well, I've bought this widescreen Phillips tv. The most important reason I bought a slightly more expensive model is that it supports Pal Plus. This is a special wide screen broadcasting standart which enables a very clear picture. I guess in the US, cable comps/program makers don't want to switch to such standart yet? I really petty you in the US, wide screen rules :-)

  16. EXACTLY on Feature:The Two Towers · · Score: 1

Ye know, I'd really love the idea that Linux becomes mainstream. There is no way that Linux won't be 10x more stable then Windows in the end. The Linux core is just 10 times better then window's....

Commercialized or not, Linux WILL stay 10 times better regarding stability/up-time.

    Fats,
