They only show the number of installs. I would like to see the number from upgrades, and new install. The better statistic is how long does the average user have it installed.
Well scientist were able to find out that the moon had water on it. Maybe NASA can spend another billion dollars to figure out if there is any Uranium on the moon. Then another 100 billion to try to figure out how to get it back to the earth safely. (Or maybe wireless power from the moon!)
You should make sure your students understand your lectures. A good professor should be able to imprint the audio of their voice in the minds of their students. If you have students just sitting there copying everything on the board they will not understand anything. Maybe you should record yourself, have a peer review it for you, and if there is nothing wrong with the videos post them for your students. Have you ever watched a movie twice, and picked up things you didn't notice the first time through? With the ever increasing digital realm, do not be lazy about it. Use it to prove better quality service to your students. Remember you are providing a service to them, and they are paying about $150 an hour for it.
I had professors teaching 300 and 400 level classes in Java who have never programmed a line of java in their life. Not just one professor, many. Whenever you asked them a question they would defer it until next class and then never answer it. Their slides where their life blood. If they could not get the power point to display, class would be canceled. And this would happen often, due to a poor IT department.
In my view professors, are people that couldn't find a real job after graduating so they never left. This is a fact you will have to live with, and this is why so many professor have such poor knowledge.
I graduated from Drexel in CS, but I am guessing that many school may have this problem. It seems to me, that either a very low, or very high end school would have the best professors. Since the low end would employ people who have full time jobs, and teach in their spare time, and high end actually care about what they are doing. By far the best teachers I had where dedicated TAs, Adjuncts, or Wikipedia.
Not true for all cars. In toyotas and many other cars you can put it in reverse if the gears line up while moving forward.
Most GM models have a button that is required to be pushed to move from neutral to reverse.
I replace and rebuilt engines and transmissions for 3 years.
I have seen cars with bad tps that would not die past a certain point because the potentiometer was grounding out. It is reasonable to think that if they reversed the potentiometer where ground was positive movement that if the tps sensor then went bad it would have the reverse effect of redlining.
I guarentee that cars are not infalable. In fact cars are designed to not last. Appearently you where on the Therac-25 development team.

Remain calm, brake then neutral. See link above.
I like 1990 - 2000 Japanese manual cars. They only have one computer and things are pretty simple. I wonder if there is a separate computer in the newer cars that controls the interaction between the throttle and the intake valve.
I guess guns count as hand held devices also.
Someone needs to create a foot controlled text messaging device, so it is no longer a hand held.
I'll start working on the foot controlled guns.
The use of Silverlight is not stupid. The use of a product and not knowing the limitations of the technologies involved is stupid.
When using Silverlight you have to know the limitation to Linux users and if it is priority to reach them also. From a business decision not reaching 5% of your customers may be an acceptable price over cost.
Mac and Windows run Silverlight as far as I have seen 100% the same. Moonlight 2.0 is in beta I believe, and Microsoft is helping the development. But Moonlight is lacking in community support. If you are a Linux Pro and want to use Silverlight applications join the project. Otherwise, your just a Linux User who really doesn't care to contribute, so Shut up.

No.

Why don't you get a real job?

I hope she got a ticket for using the phone while driving also. It just seems worst to call drunk while driving.
