  2. Re:Quick Fix, Instant-Oatmeal One-Hour photo answe on 'No Quick Fix' From Nuclear Power · · Score: -1

Probably not a Quick Fix, but if we had kept with it in the seventies instead of suing the nuke industry into oblivion, we would now be in a position to accelerate the move away from fossil fuels because we would have had a large infrastructure of nukes.

Instead, the environmental wackos of the time made certain that didn't happen. So to some extent, the predicament we are in now is their fault.

Of course, the only solution they offer now is to revert back to caveman conditions. Solar (thermal)? Too unsightly and disturbs the habitat. Solar (electric)? Too many chemicals in the manufacturing process. Wind? Kills the birds; don't ya know? Geothermal? It will never work they say.

Nuclear Energy may not be a quick fix, but it the best long term option around.

They will also propose sweeping confiscation of private property for the purpose of "preserving" the environment either by outright taking, or imposing restrictions that render the property useless to the owner.

Then they will advocate the return to a simpler life of a pen and ink on parchment.

Yeah. I think they can come up with a better model to follow than the "environmentalists".

The American Library Association is a hotbed of dim witted leftists who believe things like letting people view porn in plain sight of children (can't filter the porn in the children's section ya know!) and that if Muhammad is in there checking out books on explosives and such, that no one should pay any mind to it.

As for the privacy issue; If you use a public computer, to send email from your state provided (university) email account, I don't think you should have any expectation of privacy, just as I don't when sending email from my employers account.
