I think AP Computer Science deals mostly with C++. What about teaching them some other useful languages, like Perl or Java/Javascript?
They might enjoy Visual Basic too [insert sounds of Slashdot readers gasping]. Since most of them are probably using Windows in High school, they might get a kick out of developing some nice, simple GUI applications.

I drive a Nissan Pathfinder, and let me tell you this: For the amount of money I paid for it, there's not a chance in hell this thing is ever going off-road.
This whole SUV craze is ridiculous anyway. The biggest joke of it all is that California has all these strict emissions laws, however SUVs fall in some kind of loophole to avoid them. Meanwhile they're the most popular vehicle being sold.
I got fed up with hearing Britney and Eminem on the radio, so I simply changed the title of a few Nine Inch Nails songs that were of approximately the same length.
I get around 20-30 downloads a day of these fake songs, and with Napster v2beta6, people have been sending me some rather hurtful remarks over the chat program.
My goal is to have all the current Top 40 songs as fake mp3s, not to protest Napster but to protest poor taste in music.
The new Oasis album comes out tonight at midnight, and even though i have the whole album plus 5 or so b-sides on mp3, i'm going to stand in the rain to be the first one to buy it. I have over 6 gigs of mp3's, and i buy more albums than anybody else i know.

I think I heard that was an urban legend, but it was about RAM. Something like "You'll never need more than 640k of RAM".

One of the interesting aspects of this car is that it takes the wasted energy from braking and uses it to charge the batteries.

What about something like this for a laptop? Every time you push the keys, how about converting that energy back to the batteries?
