The problem is you're looking at cost per cartridge, when traditionally the Lexmark cartridges and the HP cartridges are larger and therefore contain more ink than Epson or Canon. Looking at the ink cost per page is a much more accurate unit of measure. (If you're using a Canon that uses the BCI21 cartridges, you'd better have deep pockets, because you'll be replacing the $7 US black cartridge every week.)
We had the same result at my High School, in NE Ohio. The unfortunate part is that a student looked at the system, said he'd have no problem disabling them, even with the security measures. The teacher berated him, and challenged him to do so. The student proceeded to find the same backdoors the student techs did, and disable the computer. The teacher reported him, and he was expelled!
Personally, I just feel lucky that they split the grading software onto a seperate physical network.
I'm sure most geeks around knows what Road Runner is, but for those who don't, it's the cable 'net service for the Akron, OH area (Or at least that's the division of Road Runner that I'm talking about.) Monday at about the same time as Yahoo!'s DoS attack, several of Road Runner's routers went down. I don't know the specifics, but it seems a little too coincidental... Anyone have any specifics on whether this is releated or not?
Working Designs.
Longest delays ever for the least returns, and a very low bug rate.
And there are others, too, but I'm a WD Whore.

If it were MY company, fire the user with severance, and re-hire him/her after the severance runs out. Problem solved. ;P

First they ignore us,
Then they laugh at us,
Then they fear us,
Then we win.
;P

I heartily agree. Maybe even just use G3 PowerBooks with Linux PPC. (I doubt NASA wants to send the Neon Toilet Seat Cover into space. ;P )
I'm sure power consumption is on the list of requirements somewhere.
