Now, I don't know if it's true, but it does seem like nothing more than a smokescreen manouver on the part of the German government.
Writing directly from Germany I can say that sadly that's true.
It's all a part of the usual reactions to a school schooting (or similar).
Each and every time the first thing they do, is blame it on shooter games and call for stricter controls for such games (never mind, that we already have one of the strictest age control systems).
One rogue politician even went so far as to equate playing shooters wich child porn and drug use.
The call for stricter weapons laws is just the latest half baked political move in trying to look decisive.
I don't play PaintBall, mainly because it's already well controlled and not too popular here.
But I do play games, and personally I'm just getting more and more annoyed and enraged about the whole sharade.
