  1. On Windows Phone? on Ask Slashdot: Are There Secure Alternatives To Skype? (theguardian.com) · · Score: 0

What difference does it make? Windows on mobile phone is dead. It is just decaying in plain sight, rather than being buried - but dead it is.

  2. One can only hope on Will New Battery Technologies Smash The Old Order? (telegraph.co.uk) · · Score: 0

However, I have seen so many enthusiastic announcements concerning all sorts of breakthroughs just around corner, which never were heard of ever since, that I will cautious and skeptical until given solid reason to feel otherwise.

To each his own. I thought that the Bajorans and their religious fundamentalism were ridiculous, and that the Sisko character, becoming essentially untouchable very quickly, was just a caricature.

    Took? You eat that stuff?

  6. This company had already become a byword for dishonesty and chicanery. It would seem that we have to add incompetence to the list.

  8. Why do people use these things? on Samsung Pay Hack Lets Attackers Make Fraudulent Payments (theverge.com) · · Score: 0

If I am going to trust anybody to make payments for me, it will be my bank or financial institution. The guys who make my phone? I don't think so, much less when they are a heavy-handed, and generally not very nice company like Samsung, when it comes to dealing with its customers. Samsung, you can stick your Samsung Payment you know where.

  11. Who subscribed to Hulu? on Hulu Ends Free Streaming Service, Moves Free Stuff To Yahoo View (hollywoodreporter.com) · · Score: 0

You have to pay, and watch commercials? WTF! I would pay, even a bit more, for no commercials whatsoever. I won't pay a single dime if I have to watch commercials.

  12. Delta sucks on Delta Air Lines Grounded Around the World After Computer Outage (cnn.com) · · Score: 0

It has for years. The consolidation of the commercial airline industry in the US has resulted in companies that suck uniformly, and prices that remain high uniformly. I have been able to fly Bristol to Madrid, in Europe for less than $50 each way. In the US, Denver to San Francisco, which is roughly the same distance, will set you back by $200 round trip, if you are very lucky. Usually, it will be more like $300.

  13. Microsoft propaganda on Microsoft To Release Two Major Windows 10 Updates Next Year (arstechnica.com) · · Score: -1, Offtopic

I am sick and tired of the Microsoft propaganda that gets published here on a regular basis. Anybody know it is possible to set a filter to eliminate such stories from every showing up when accessing Slashdot?
