Hey, that sounds like what borland started doing a few years ago starting with Delphi 3. I'm pretty sure they got it worked into C++Builder 4 too. I do have to admit it is VERY useful when doing such things as windows programs where you have functions like CreateFont() which have, like, 14 arguements and I could never remember which was supposed to be which all the time or having some crazy remote, rarely used structure to fill out for a function and not remembering each member.
I know when I'm programming command line programs though, I can't see this as nearly as useful. Input and output I can just use stdin and stdout and most functions I create for the program I can remember for myself and most stuff like strcmp is easy to remember. I doubt I'd use a lot of those types of things when doing that.
I guess GUI tools are good for GUI programming and CLI tools are good for CLI programming.
Me, I think I'll be sticking with less fancy stuff, since I'm doing less and less GUI programming lately.
So instead of opening my media in quicktime, which sucks horribly, it'll now open it in MediaPlayer, which sucks just as bad? There's no way to win! Couldn't it just put up a picture saying 'imagine movie here'? Or maybe just poke my eyes out while they're at it. Better than having to deal with either of them.
I just sure hope there's more colours than just purple for the NA launch. Like, I know the look shouldn't matter if the games are good, but I still don't want to look like some kind of pansy gamer buying a purple system...
"The Red Cross should be destroyed! They are taking away valuable business from our Doctors and our relief workers! Their volunteers utilize anti-business practices in what they called 'helping' their and other 'communities' while taking away the opportunity from all the starving doctors and workers around the US! We must act now to purge this ugly system from our country as it promotes communistic ideals and is not the 'American Way'."
Honestly, that's what Microsoft sounds like. What is so wrong about people volunteering to do something worthwhile? They enjoy it and provide something (often) useful. The GPL is there as a safety measure against such things as people freeloading and taking someone else's hardwork, adding to it, closing it, then not giving it back. The only problem is, that's exactly what Microsoft WANTS to do with it. It's like, if someone volunteered for the Red Cross and they needed to help clear someplace a ways away and they flew you by plane there, they'd sure want you to help clean up if you volunteered, instead of just getting a free plane ride. Look at Win2k's use of the FreeBSD TCP/IP stack: Free plane ride to where they need to be. No agreement to do any work.
I dunno about you, but yeah I know it was illegal for Kevin to do what he did, but I have absolutly no idea how it caused a supposed $80 million in damages that the judge came to, especially since he didn't destroy, shut down, etc. the server or anything or distribute what he found.
Obviously you didn't read the article. He isn't someone breaking into systems, he's someone making the IPv6 stack for various BSD systems. You're referring to 'crackers'. There's a difference.:/
They're on both sides of the wall. It's the hackers who make the network in the first place too. It's just someone who is curious and skilled in technical arts. They are the main reason you are probably working on that computer in the first place, and the main reason it is going somewhere. I'm guessing your tie and tight white collar shirt are cutting off circulation to your brain.
So wait. Of course less will be spent on research and development since each business won't need to re-invent the wheel each time someone needs something. And aren't Freedom and Choice supposed to be part of the 'American Way'?
And when it all comes down to it, if someone made a program entirely in machine code, would it be considered open source when he/she distributes the program? It's all the same stuff, just compilers are much less daunting....glad I live in Canada, but we usually just follow suit...
I'd rather have a hacker working on setting up my computer than a white-collar MSCE. When you learn something on your own, you usually understand it better than when it's taught to you. And someone who knows how to exploit something will also know how to better protect against it.
lol, that's the funniest thing I've seen all day.
Wow... you're dumb.

You wonder if next election you won't be able to vote unless you're wearing Nike shoes and Tommy shirts.

Just my two cents

Sweet! I'd watch it! Be better than most TV right now.

Plus, the guy is really Japanese and isn't a kid. Obviously you're an idiot.

I hope the future is like StarCraft. Then I'll already have some experience...
...what is this 'outside' that they speak of?
