"Most women see computers as tools. As means to an end. Not a toy. Not a world to be explored."
How absurd. Most users, period, view a computer as a tool. Why are you singling out women? Every comment you have made applies EQUALLY to men.
Women learn better "from other people"? You imply that men are more capable solo learners. As an educator, I'll clue you in on a little fact: Most individuals, Male or Female, learn material in less time when assisted by another.
What in the world does the French language have to do with any of this? Blaming the decision of the French miitary on French language or culture is absolutely moronic.
At what age is it *appropriate* to teach programming skills to kids? I teach 5th/6th graders, and while our curriculum does not cover programming I'm wondering if it might not be a useful way to introduce logical and critical thinking skills,as well as seeding an interest in high-tech careers.
Excuse me, but if you are a single mom (for whatever reason) without skills working at Target or K-mart and making $8.00 per hour, you can ill afford to spend $17 per month on something as frivolous as internet access.
And besides, what low income parent-to-be thinks "Hey, I can't afford internet access--I better not have any kids!"
And of course, the Microsoft deal requires a CREDIT CARD, something that the middle class can take for granted. . . . .

Funny as hell!
Cmdr Dorito, now why didn't I think of that? I wonder, are CmdrBurrito or CmdrChimichanga taken? Or am I stuck with CmdrFlan?
. . . or perhaps a set of slashdot support hose.
. . .Except I want to filter out all those Anonymous Coward posts.
