    Haven't seen that error before.

but how are they really gonna tell?

Hmmm.. I think that they would be suspicious if I brought in a half-melted chip, with the top portion of a heatsink fused into it. Especially when they remove the heatsink, to find a pool of liquid nitrogen on the chip's surface. Or if you bring in a rusting motherboard, covered in ice that couldn't have formed without serious overclocking.
Sure, adding a heatsink or CPU fan probably won't get you in trouble. But the more complex you go, the more unstable components you use (liquid nitro, water, vacuum cleaner, motorcycle radiator), the more you increase the chance of making it obvious to the people at the store that you were overclocking.

I find that the above post addresses the situation in such a way that I find it necessary to comment, as many people may misinterperate the above post as offtopic.

First of all, the subject 'Pigs' really addresses the situation very well. Intouch's actions on this issue are very representative of the charictaristics traditionally associated with being called a pig: Specifically, the phrase 'capitalist pig', refering to late 18th century factory owners who made tons of money but left their workers in horrible conditions. Intouch, in this sense, is poised to make a ton of money if the lawsuit is sucessful, but its control over this technology will make the general market a worse (only by a tiny amount, but still signifigant if this practice becomes more common) place.

This is also in tune with pigs, as refering to the leaders of the revolution described by George Orwell in his novel 'Animal Farm'. The pigs were trying to do the right thing and combat the people who had been oppressing the animals (in this case, Amazon and the patents), but now they are doing the same thing, using wrongly granted patents to attempt to control what should be a freely usable marketing practice.

The comment raises several other issues. As you know, male goats are called 'bucks'. Male goats also smell bad. The comment may be a satirical comment about the new economy, about how web based businesses are doing anything to get money, even sacrificing their ethics and sense of good judgement.

The comment could also be refering to the general situation that the patent system is in, not a well tuned machine, but more an animal, forced to evolve to a harsh modern climate, and, although being able to do so to some extent, not being able to withstand the new modern technology that has begun to pervade the market, and cause it to be unable to do its job. (When was the last time you drank goat milk, or the other dairy products that have now been taken over by cows ?)

As you can see, the above post is an insightful look into the issue, and pertains not only to this article, but to the web based economy at large, and the future of e-commerce in a money-centric world.

You weren't the only one. But I'm wondering if I was the only one to feel the need to actually code all of those functions.
