A lot of wonderfully super-geeky people get into computer science because it's fascinating, not for the paycheck. The paycheck is an AWESOME byproduct. One reason to do the MS is because you love what you do and want to know more.
A good MS is bringing out the heavy duty geek tools. Don't settle for less.
