So what happens when this whole GPS-tracking system locates an "intern chip" close to a "President chip"?

RE: Would we hit the point of cyberpunk-fiction where they'd be hiring armed guards to keep FTC-led cops from shutting them down? Or would the FTC just cave in and admit it has no real power?...

Then you get into the situation of Microsoft/AOL/TIME/Warner building replicants to battle the FTC's ED-209s. Don't even start on the terminators/time travel crap. -Miguel

  3. How About A User's EULA? on EULA In Games · · Score: 5
Has anyone ever dreamt up the EULA from a consumer's position? Maybe someone should, in order to let all the software companies know exactly what we consumers want to agree to.

Would go a bit like this:
"...With my purchase of (insert vendor name here)'s software, the vendor agrees and acknowledges that
-I will be installing said software on all CPUs that I own.
-I will be making as many backup copies as I deem necessary.
-I have the right to create, own, and patent new works with vendor's software (e.g. screen shots, peotry, documents, art, methods of computing, etc.).
-I will allow friends and family to use vendor's software as long as the computer it is installed on is owned by me.
-The vendor must protect my privacy (protect my registration information, may not sell my registration information to anyone)
-the vendor must provide me with reasonable software support and maintenance,
-the software soure code is held in third-party escrow and will be provided to me should the vendor go belly-up.
    -etc, etc,etc...

I just remember watching a ton of Voltron, Grandizer, Mazinger Z, Robotech, Thundercats, etc. Are not these manga/anime also? I agree with most choices like Ninja Scroll rocks, Vampire Hunter D is also cool. -Groundhog 01357131719232729...

  5. Freedom Of Speech on Social Changes & Internet Access In The Third World · · Score: 4

While I am no expert, I can see that the biggest cultural shock is the freedom of speech that the internet fosters. Many of these countries' local governments have tight controls over the news and telecommunication media. The internet is new ground, practically uncontrollable (unless we all fall asleep). The upside and downside is that everyone would generally benefit from the free availability of information; it is up to each country to adapt to the rules of the game.
