  1. This is why I voted for him last year on Rep. Gets It - Boucher Re-Examines Fair Use · · Score: 2

Boucher was the only Democratic nominee that I voted for last year and it was precisely because of his stand on issues of IP and the internet. He has always been forward thinking about technology and fighting for what is right.

To the person who said that he has no hope at reelection obviously doesn't live in VA. He was just reelected and blew the competition out of the water. So I guess he is safe for a couple of more years anyway.

  2. Re:How Long Before ... on Technology And The XFL · · Score: 1

All of the teams in the XFL are owned by the league so the only one getting rich and fat will be McMahon and the XFL Corporation. Hopefully they will increase salaries as revenues grow but if it is 'for the love of the game' that shouldn't matter should it.

Actually, I saw a story (sorry,no link or anything) several months ago on TV that showed that Bush had better grades in college than Gore did. Gore is just so deliberate when he speaks that he comes across as being smarter.

  6. A good idea on Do Techies Care For Daycare? · · Score: 1

I think that helping with daycare is a great idea but most employers don't offer it because of the cost. It costs a lot of money to find a place, buy equipment (toys, stuff for food, tables...) and hire competent staff.

You are more likely to find this situation if you work for a large company whose main focus is not just IT. The greater the number of people in the company the more of a mix of situations, sexes and ages of workers so there will probably be more demand for daycare.

My wife and I had this discussion recently because we are finishing an adoption of two children under two. Fortunately for us my wife will be able to quit her job and stay home with them which is probably best for all kids but just not practical for many people today.

  7. Gore responds on Taxes: on Help Bush and Gore Answer Slashdot Questions · · Score: 2

As I was saying to Tipper last night after we tenderly made love the way we have so often during the 30 years of our rock-solid marriage, the downtrodden have a clear choice in this election. My opponent wants to cut taxes for the richest 1 percent of Americans. I, on the other hand, want to put the richest 1 percent in an ironclad lockbox so they can't hurt old people like Roberta Frampinhamper, who is here tonight. Mrs. Frampinhamper has been selling her internal organs, one by one, to pay for gas so that she can travel to these debates and personify problems for me. Also, her poodle has arthritis.

Is this person the same one who was in the MOD 'hacking' (probably not the right use but it is the one they used to describe themselves) group several years ago? The name is the same and I was just wondering if it was coincidence or something else. If anybody knows I'd like hear from them.

Have you seen other sites out there with your books as the main topic and what do you think of them? I think that Floor 42 is one of the best examples of a fan website I have ever seen.

This interview is well timed since just this past Saturday I picked up several of your books at a used book store in Northern Virginia. I already owned a couple of them but bought these copies because I hadn't seen the cover art on any other copies I had come across.

Thanks for the enjoyable reading and I look forward to more in the future.

I don't think he mentioned anywhere catching the black hat and having them arrested. He just wanted to see how they got into the system so he could fix the problem so it wouldn't happen on the real server.
