Let's get this bad boy into a KryoTech setup and see what it can REALLY do. Oh no, I forgot. It's a new Intel chip and will therefore not allow itself to be over-clocked.
"Fuel-efficient" in Europe doesn't have to mean "micro-car". I've driven plenty of cars both in the U.K. and the U.S., and I have to say that a good 2.0 litre engine in the U.K. will offer equal (if not more) performance than a typical 3.0 litre in the U.S. Not only that, but you'll get more mpg from the 2.0 litre too.
The only extra you'll get from the 3.0 litre car is more torque at lower revs. Unless you're planning on towing a house behind you, that doesn't often matter that much.
I'll agree with you on the comfort level of 'compact' cars though. I quite often drive trips of well over 800 straight miles in the U.S. (try doing THAT in the U.K. withought falling into an ocean!) and there's NO way that I could those journeys in your typical compact car. Give me big comfy seats and air-con any day:-)
Companies (especially large companies) are now, more than ever, likely to be involved in sexual harrassment lawsuits. If a charge of sexual harrassment is brought against a company, then that company will be investigated - this can include searches of that companies file and mail servers.
If any pornography is found on any company systems then that will be used in the court case to show that the company was negligent in meeting its sexual harrassment prevention obligations. In fact if I remember correctly (IANAL of course) this has already happened in a couple of high profile cases.
We live in litiguous times, and this unfortunately means that sometimes companies have to take strong actions to protect themselves.
Weren't the Mark 1 and it's forerunner the "Small-Scale Experimental Machine" (SSEM) build at the University of Manchester, England? Here's a link with some substantion.
This all comes down to something called the 'Reasonable Man Standard'. The courts decided that no 'reasonable man' would take the claim that a soft drinks manufacturer would be giving away an extremely expensive, high-tech, and above all RESTRICTED piece of military hardware as a competition prize.
IMHO, this was just another case of opportunistic litigation.
They probably bother screening to meet regulatory requirement. I'm pretty sure it's not out of some heart-felt desire to protect their customers from hurting themselves.
Actually if memory serves me right it was called Giotto. Got some pretty good pictures of Halley's nucles too before it got whacked by a high speed dust-bunny.
Not quite ANY abuse. My first job in computing was coding for and supporting a couple of Apple IIe's for a small company in the UK. Had a support call one day from one of the two users saying that her computer wouldn't switch on and 'smelled funny'.
Turns out that a mouse had sneaked into her computer through one of the ports on the back, and crept onto the top of the power supply. At some point it had obviously succumbed to a 'call of nature' and relieved itself, managing to kill both itself and the Apple IIe in one hit.
I'd just like to add my comment to this ever-growing list.
I went to school in England, and suffered much of what I am reading about now. I loved the sciences and loved learning while most of my class-mates did not; Was I a target? Hell, I may as well have painted a bullseye on my head! I can still think back to the seven years I spent at that school and shudder.
For anybody currently going through this sort of torment, I would like to add this:
My college years were the best of my life. I met many wonderful people whom I remain in contact with to this day. I had a fantastic time learning about subjects that I found fascinating, without the hinderance of having a group of morons surrounding me trying to look cool. I have a great job, and a loving fiance.
No matter how far away the light at the end of the tunnel seems, don't give the journey up. You'll become a better and stronger person than ANY of your tormentors will ever be. Life WILL get so much better for you. It's yours for the taking.

Silly me.

Just gives me an html error when I try to view it.
Wow - that's REALLY annoying.
As an aside, does this not count as domain name squatting? Purchasing a domain name for the intent of selling (or in this case renting) it later?
Just a thought...
Guess we're going to have to start referencing it as "the-candy-formerly-known-as-PEZ"
;-)

Flame away...
...for all those old FAT16 formatted systems. The sector size is going to end up a little unwieldy!
:-)

Try changing it to the little red ball. It's worse.
Oh, now FluptyByte I like! How can we campaign to get this accepted?
:-)
Thank you for demonstrating your complete lack of knowledge of the Internet.
IANAL, but as far as I know the 'Reasonable Man Standard' is one of the foundations of U.S. law.
You don't see how it would be unreasonable for a soft drinks manufacturer to be offering high-cost restricted military hardware as a prize?

Unfortunately this seems to suggest that 'innocent until proven guilty' now doesn't count for anything.
...or maybe administer a preventative shock.

Errr - the Roman Empire ring any bells?
18th Century. 20th Century. Note that the numbers differ. Things change.

Ah, those were the days...
Hey! Don't knock the thirty-somethings :-)

You really should STUDY history rather than just regurgitating what Hollywood feeds you, you know.
Still with the racial slurs too, I see.
