I think it's not to make it to much like the iphone. Touch with a camera needs only needs the phone part and it's an iPhone. The nano on the other hand still maitains a good distance.
Not only does the OP miss the point completely (since what happens is that you are rerouted to the default search engine). But Am I missing something? Using that link I I'm redirected to some fat guys shirts page.
Yes, I guess the inability to put the cheap version of windows 7 on anything bigger than 10.2 has nothing to do with it.
It's not a conspiracy, it's business. Hell, if I had a company that made netbooks I would probably do the same. Other options are just, for now at least, to expensive for the netbook price or linux, wich most people don't want in their netbooks.
Isn't it more probable that they're taking them down so their whole netbook line is allowed to run windows 7 starter editon? That's one of the main limitations imposed by microsoft.
Actually after the prices are lower and kind of stable between all the major cloud services/storage providers, doing so would probably force them to move their servers to other countries where the taxes are lower. The other option is to increase the prices. A mix of both will probably happen. Anywhere will become global and those who want it localized in USA will have to pay premium.
I'm not criticising either side, the companies or the government. But when doing taxes one has to have in mind how will people react and act acoordingly, possibly achieving some middle ground.

I'm getting kind of self-conscious.
