Wait wait wait...MS is pushing for this? Shortly after they were told MS Office was patent infringing and could no longer be sold in certain areas of the US? Seems like a bit of a shotgun blast to the foot if you ask me...
Must be where you live, here in Canada I just compared to comparable laptops, one from Apple Canada, and one from Dell (Alienware).
The Mac was a Macbook Pro 17-inch. 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
4GB memory
500GB 5400-rpm hard drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics processor with 512MB GDDR3 memory
Comes with personalized nameplate, bluetooth, a/g/n wireless @ 300 Mbps
So same processor, same memory, but the alienware has a faster HDD, a better video card, and not to sound shallow but those alienware computers look way better than Mac's
Exactly what I tell people who bitch about the cost of Win 7. If you don't own a computer, you will be spending easily twice as much for the mac as the PC for identical hardware performance. If you factor that cost in the cost of win 7 doesn't look so bad.
I just whip out my phone and BAM! There's the nearest drug dealer. BAM! There's the nearest hooker! BAM! There's the cops, with a red outline so you know they are baddies. I think I could get used to this...
Well, most of the exotic flavor derivatives, like blueberry flavoured miniwheats (as opposed to normal ones). And for crackers stuff like Jalapeno cheese nips (where I can only find normal ones here).
Perhaps he has an addiction to some of the delicious cereal and crackers there are available there which aren't available in Canada. Trust me, they are worth the cavity searches.
I understand clearly the costs of a stakeout. But compared to the total cost of crime to a country I think those would be minimal.
I also never said that an appropriate punishment would be to remove the fingers of a thief. I think an appropriate punishment would be jail time, where he can enjoy the company of "bubba" king of the cell block. Just for arguments sake, lets say the thief is a ten year old homeless child...what the fuck is this child doing on the street and not in the custody of Child and Family services? I can honestly say that where I'm from, the child car thieves are in it for kicks, not because their homeless. And any person old enough to break into a car and steal a stereo is old enough to know better.
I'm sorry, but three times in one week? If I break into your house and steal your TV. Then once you've got a new one under your insurance, I do it again. Wouldn't you think to yourself "Gee, I see a bit of a pattern here?" And wouldn't you then hope the police may keep a bit of a closer watch on your neighbourhood, for at least awhile. It's embarrassing that the general population can predict a theft of their own property accurately enough to lay a trap and catch some fingers shortly thereafter. What I was trying to get across was that the person should have a right to protect his property.
Because perhaps this is in fact news for nerds. Why a web browser, which is where most of us spend most our time, would not want to implement safety features is a great topic which merits debate. Seems like a cut and dried example of front page material to me.
Considering that when your PS3 breaks you simply need to buy a new one...ya I'd consider this a good thing. I mean obviously it's not perfect, the fact that I needed a new one at all is an obvious flaw. However, it is nice to see such excellent customer support when a known flaw exists. Now if only they would have taken my computer with Vista (a known flaw) and returned it with XP...

No, but it goes great with Wine.
and the burden of proof lies on you to prove it doesn't!
You what they really need? An app that gets apps accepted into the app store.

You forgot to mention the flux capacitor.
Oh! You mean like marking P2P as "low priority" during peak usage hours...oh wait...
But the fuzzy dice you got for the Hyundai several years ago will still work, while as the old fuzzy dice for the Merc causes it not to start...
If you want a reliable *nix OS, by cheap ass hardware and install Ubuntu.

If you have to post as an AC then don't post in the first place.
I think that mental image just gave me an old person stigma...gross.
Technically, I belive the goal is to make sure your parents still do it...otherwise that picture of you just might fade away to nothing...

That's the FCC's menstrual cycle. Every 4 years they hit PMS and decide to go nuts.

I won't argue that at all, but once you wade through the article it contains material significant to all IE users.

Well then I suppose the police should have done their job to prevent the theft in the first place by keeping car thieves off the street.
Puma? You're makin' that up...
P.S. For those hearing the woosh, it's a Red vs. Blue joke. And a good one at that.

Shouldn't they have called it reboot? Just sayin'...
