Now stand aside, worthy adversary. 'Tis but a scratch. A scratch? Your arm's off! No, it isn't. Well, what's that then? I've had worse. You liar! Come on you pansy!
Why is the US government acting as a mob enforcer for the Media Giants?
Kind of a silly question considering the nature of politics, don't you think? But one of the reasons might also be that the media giants act as the state's propaganda machine in determining what people see and hear for manipulating public opinion, while at the same time propping up the illusion of freedom and providing 'great' entertainment.
I'd bet they'd be willing to at least take a look.
Yeah, they're saying, 'Where's my cut?'
I will not stand for anything that's crooked or unfair I'm strictly on the up and up So everyone beware If anyone's caught taking graft And I don't get my share We stand 'em up against the wall And pop goes the weasel.
No need to be so optimistic.. Old world mass media still owns the pipe... If you don't believe me, just look at the types that are still winning elections. I mean, how is this possible? (That's a rhetorical question, no need to answer)
It's called feudalism, and it will develop wherever nobody is in charge.
That's a load of crap. A feudal society requires a very powerful authority to exist. Absence of authority is more properly termed anarchism. A system that requires self discipline. Which just happens to be the ultimate goal of communist theory, where the state withers and dies. We can't rightfully describe ourselves as truly human until that happens.
The only way to stop this bullshit is to mandate that all campaigns be publicly funded... We need to get money out of politics
Wait! What?? You don't see the conflict there? And besides, just who do you expect to pay for this 'public funding'? How 'bout fuck the idea of campaigns entirely, since they're just a pack of lies, and just make sure the politicians' voting records stand out more than their fancy speeches and soon to be broken promises?
We're not dealing with ignorance. These people aren't stupid by a long shot. "For me and mine" is the theme of the day. And that goes for genpop just as much as it does for the warden and the guards.
...Justin Bieberlake running the country....
That couldn't be any worse than who we have now...
...corruption at every level...
Including the voters who expect a piece of the action. Corruption high and low... meeting in the middle..
Now stand aside, worthy adversary.

Do you remember when laws used to be enforced?
No

We don't do in absentia bullshit in the US like they do in some other parts of the world...
Yeah, the US just cuts to the chase and kills them... Don't need no steenking trial..

That would be much better than begging to the damn banks who just want to tie them down.

The rich don't need a 'cheat code'. They designed the game.
yes they can... as a matter of fact, you're already under arrest.... hands on the car.. c'mon spread 'em
...over the top and distracting decorations on their lawns...
Wait. What? Don't you dare touch my flamingos, man
There is a real reason why congress is less popular than things like Paris Hilton and Nixon.
Could've fooled me. I mean, with a 95% reelection rate, I would say they're a pretty popular bunch
Alaska is the perfect place for cargo drones.. They're a lot less likely to wreck than a human pilot..
Yes, it's strictly business...
I think congress should look in the mirror when it comes to evading questions... or taxes for that matter
So did the unprotected metal rod.
Did it win an 'Employee of the Month' award and get a parade?

There is no defense against willful ignorance.

Basically we're fucked.. until we can circumvent the ISP and create a true peer to peer internet
I doubt that blocking EFF was 'collateral' damage. Pretty sure sure it was intentional. EFF is an enemy of the (corporate) state.
I believe that was the DC10 that you are talking about. Not a Boeing product.
Funny, doesn't look like a DC 10.
Heh, when they start jamming our wifi, we'll be back to good old sneakernet... we can increase the bandwidth of that with pony express...
...the OLPC project is about education...
Yeah, I find the whole scam very educational
