  1. Re:Bye Bye on Farscape Finale Tonight · · Score: 1

Dune is by far my most cherished book series so I am religous about it's content.

Funny enough the original movie with Kyle Maclaughlin was why I picked up the books. And now that I own them I can bear watching it.

I haven't watched the first miniseries (though I own because relatives know I am a fanatic.)

Children of dune (minus Leto with that expanding suit) was pretty close to the source and had great production value.

  2. Re:Farscape and SciFi on Farscape Finale Tonight · · Score: 1

Fully agree on Children of Dune. I own the first Miniseries and haven't even watched it. Caught the 1st and 3rd COD and figured I'd pop in those DVD's someone got me o so long ago.

The young Joules Vern was pretty cool... though I only ever saw 2 programs. Lexx was odd but better then anything after ST:TNG in the ST universe. (not trying to offend trekkies... I have always made it a point to see the movies in the theater but my interest is waining.)

SG1... I guess it's a religous issue. I never liked it but I will have to say that it has clutched on for dear life as best it could for years. I actually watched a couple of episodes becuase of Farscape, though I kinda feal sh$tty about it now.

  3. Re:Data rate is proportional to bandwidth. on Slashback: Privacy, Spectrum, Location · · Score: 1

This is assuming no triangulation of source. If I treat my input as a point, I get interfernce at any given frequency because I treat all transmission as coming from and arriving to this imaginary space. (this is the way traditional broadcasting is treated)

If on the other hand I treat my input as a three dimensional space all of a sudden I can have as many broadcast sources as my ability to process them can tolerate. I can distinguish signal based on directionality, though I have new concerns like multi-path signals and two sources coming one behind the other.

It is true that bandwidth is a high school math problem to figure out for a given source, but it is a technological problem why we have interfernce.

What is your definition of interference? Is it a physical property of photons that blinds one from directionality. I can't see how interfernce is anything but an artifact of the tool. Sound works on similar principals, but in a crowded room I can single discusions above the "noise". Is their something qualitatively different with human perception that can't be replicated in a tool?

  7. Re:complete bunk on The Myth of Radio Spectrum Interference · · Score: 1

That is by far the most ignorant ramble I've ever heard. You are assuming that EMF can only describe transmission as time and energy with no directionality. I as an personally can tell radio source directionality from nothing more than movement and time with only experiencing the conversion of the signal from a tool that can perceive the transmission as you describe. Therefore i am receiving and interpreting the multiple sources just fine.
