You compares two differents things.
If you apt-get a new release every week, you're probably on the unstable branch that means that you're using a *development* version.
If you want to compare Debian to Windows 2000, you must use Debian 2.2 since it is THE latest stable release (and you won't apt-get anything for a while)
Perhaps Win2K is the best product from Microsoft, but it is not fair to compare it with a development version !!
BTW, your benchmark only compares Windows to other Windows, you should find something that compares Win2K / Linux / Solaris / (flavor of the day)BSD. It's a lot more meaningful.
Down here, we're using 2.4.0 since 2.4.0-test1 on a our web farm (~ 30 web servers with apache) and it works pretty cool.
The latest reboots of these computers were to upgrade the kernel or the hardware.
We did the upgrade because the 2.2.X were very unstable under heavy load (they froze in one or two days). AFAIK, there is still a problem with the mem management of 2.2.17.
Actually, these are called dictionary spam. In the usual way, spammers used newsgroup/web pages to collect email.
But, when you are a big ISP (let's say more than 100 000 users in France), you probably have all the first names, all the last names you can find in this country.
Besides, you can also use some dictionaries (the same used in Crack for example).
With this system, spammers hope to contact a great pourcent of people without collecting email
This behaviour oftens results in firewalling the spammer domain asap on the servers.
If only theses suckers knew what every users just delete this junk without even read it...
So, it should not be like that.
If Micro$oft thinks that anyone is copying its software, they must prove it first!!!
Nobody has to prove he is innocent unless someone has a real proof of the contrary.
Such a license is contrary to the most basic Human Rights.

As a mirror, we know that 7.2 is out since thursday and our local mirror was up and running before the week-end.
I have opened officially the directory yesterday.
The guys from Mandrake did it correctly and gave half a week to official mirrors to synchronize.
