*shrug* I submitted this story about two months ago when a friend of mine told me about getting this message, and that he was going to be kicked off ICQ. Incidentally, since, due to this kid's demeanor, I thought he was 17 (as I am), it surprised the hell out of me.:P
And yes, to fend off any questions, I -did- post it with a username... *shrug*
Regarding the games, I grew up with 'em. The first game I ever played besides say, solitare and minesweeper, was The Black Gate - that was, and still is, the most ass-kicking game I've ever played, with the possible exception of Q3A - and it's a close call even then.
After Ultima 7:SI, though, I noticed the quality go downhill. Ultima 8's interface sucked majorly, and I saw Ultima 9 lag a P-III 600 - bad plot and bad graphics routines, respectively. It's kinda nice to see the Avatar laid to rest, finally (or left to go home, or whatever happens at the end of 9), but I'll certainly miss the games.
Here's to you, Lord British. *raises a bottle of ale with a diamond-shaped lid*

It seems to me that you can't expect Yahoo! to monitor -all- auctions - I'm not sure on this, but I don't think that the auctions are moderated in any way, so the only way to ferret out warez and the like would have to be to go through each auction seperately. Not to mention the fact that, if you read the auction, it specifies that you should only buy it if you currently own the game, and wish to buy a backup copy. Granted, that's a bunch of BS if you believe that the buyer actually has FFA, but it covers the auctioner's ass. Essentially, in that auction, what the person is selling is the service of making a CD-R backup of FFA, not a pirated copy of it. At least, that's what it appears to be on the surface... Side-question, if anyone knows - why can't I put a CR between the end of the post and my name? Please E-Mail me if you can help me - it looks like crap now. *grumble* -Teflon Eppy
Much as I hate to do so... *screams, "AMEN!"* *nods to himself* Just had to do that. Although that wasn't the purpose of the post, I imagine, all the BS about MS dodging judicial bullets is getting old. -Teflon Eppy "Dodge this."
It seems to me, having read the news postings over the past week or so, that the government is blowing a bunch of hot air at the brick house of Microsoft. They need to do something to make MS hurt, and make it hurt badly. -Teflon Eppy
