Have you looked at Dell (disclamer, I work for Dell) for a replacement for the Dell monitor? I found 2 for less than $200 each that probably come close enough:

Exactly. I don't have a problem with internalizing costs through taxation, but the revenue from these taxes would surely end up in the general fund. If they were serious about it, they should use the money to fund after school activities, music programs, and health programs related to obesity.
Applications that have earned the "Certified for Windows Vista" logo or the "Works with Windows Vista" logo
and the line taken from context is:
These applications are officially supported on Windows Vista by our independent software vendor (ISV) partners. (emphasized part seems to be missing from the story)
I would guess that the owners of the programs you don't see on the list didn't go through the logo process. The process for the "Works With Windows Vista" and "Certified For Windows Vista" can be found here. I know it cost $$ (hundreds I believe) to get the Works With but I MS was even offering to pay for the tests early on. Certified For is more expensive.

I am sure that I read somewhere that over 90% of all statistics on the Internet are made up. When I find the link to the research I will post it.
Might I suggest http://www.emjembedded.com/ as a source for all things embedded. They seem to have a helpfull staff and show prices online. They also have a WIDE range of small computing devices and accessories.
Go to the graph at A Curmudgeon Teaches Statistics and choose Nader as the Y variable, now the top point with X as Gore, Bush or Buchannan is Pinellas! I see another conspiracy!
The percentage of votes for Buchannan in Palm Beach is not the highest percentage in the state of Florida, Baker county has a higher percentage. The percentage for Buchannan in Calhoun is more than twice that in Palm Beach!
Given that the percentage of votes for Bush is almost the lowest in the state, I think that the poor voters who choose Buchannan actually meant to choose Bush! Bush -vs- Buchannan...logical mistake! You Decide!!
How about being able to Moderate a story down below my threshold? I know this is a full blown Linux Zone and I am not a Mac fan, but give me a break! You should know by now that Mac users are at least as fanatical as Linux users (look at the drought during the 90's) and just when it looks like they are making a comeback someone blind sides them with trash like this? Remember when the thing to port from/to was M$ Windows? Give these guys a break! And perhaps realize that they have been spending a LOT of money for hardware and software and are used to it. Can you say the same thing about the Linux group? Markets exist where $$$ is spent.
Between this article and the one about the PCI card, do you think it is time for a new topic icon just for SETI@home?

There is an option with Acrobat to do OCR on an image. I worked with a Professor who is also a managing editor of a journal to add a searchable set of PDF's of all issues of the journal. He hired a student to feed the scanner. They then loaded the images into Adobe Acrobat and ran a capture text on it and bampf, searchable. They kept the original image with the text behind so they didn't have to correct the mistakes of the OCR. I don't have a copy of it in front of me, so I can't be more specific.

As someone else mentioned, use the Outstanding Issues link and you should get service (at least return emails) soon.

You have to pay an 'independent lab' to do the testing and submit an application signature to make the list.

Gartner believes that this rewriting will not occur before year-end 2002 (0.8 probability).
Big difference.
