i have a old P 90 compaq server for my home stereo, with like 16Mb ram. works great no skips at 160bit rate. i think you might be able to get away with the 486/66 if you stream mp3's to it... dont know, although that does give me a project now...
how about a new feature rob... as shown on this artical, the second post, AC of cource, did several hr's in a row. while i know i can block ot AC's n suff, i still like to read the comments, sometimes no matter how annoying. How about a little control, such as having no three tags the same tag in a row... ex (hr)(hr)(hr). i know its filtering people, something i even hate doing, but in this case, i think you would agree, no ones needs more that 3 tags of just one object in a row....
I agree with mr. katz, i dont like "shutup" software. At work we have software, a proxy server, that blocks content. Every time a new sight gets blocked, someone complains, and it gets taken off. But the fact is, we dont have the money for fat pipes. i wish we did. So in a effort to curtail traffic, they instituted blocking and caching proxies. what happened? our bandwidth usage went down like 15%, but still half the sites employees want to go to are blocked. its annoying as hell, but sometimes it has to be done. btw we did find out though that nearly half of the traffic going to the internet was going to finance and stock sites, about a quarter to porn sites etc. etc. etc.
I was noticing that Lee Gomes, the writer of this artical, is also the Moderator for the afore mentioned AIIM '99 panel, http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=99/04/06/122324 5 think it might be baised a bit?
Little does anyone know i personaly hold a patent on all 1's and 0's that flow over the internet. you are required to pay me a 1% royalty for all 1's and 0's that may be sent from and recived by/.
If your so concerend about your "so called" privacy, then why the hell are you on the internet?
