well, of course I meant the Government. If the 16-yo kid down the street can do it, I bet your Government can -- unless you live in England, but apparently they're working on it.
the time it took for a debate that sort of looked interesting to turn into the good ole MS v. Apple fight.
I wonder if we shouldn't create a special award (a bit like the Godwin points) for the fastest to troll on our usual preferred/. topics. There's quite a few if you think about it! MS v. Apple Windows v. Mac OS X v. Linux v. xBSD v. other OSes vi v. Emacs (when everybody knows Emacs rules anyway =)
I can only agree to that. Reading a real book still is what I'm looking for.
I usually like to compare this to the "de-materialisation" of music. But the switch from CD to MP3 players really provided a change -- in size and in the fact that you don't need to change the CD all the time. On the other hand, electronic book readers are still "book sized", sort of fragile (you should see how I treat my books...) and whatever people say, not the same as reading ink on paper. (and yes, i've seen a few of the models that came out recently)
Amusing... I thought the Americans only went to War because they wanted to test their new secret weapon.
Actually, as Europeans, we should feel lucky they got spanked by the Japanese in Pearl Harbour, otherwise Enola Gay could well have set course for Europe !
(I'll turn off my conspiracy theory mode now, promise!)
The GPL license is what is closest to communism. Ever seen a communist regime that was a democracy ?
(I need to leave now, the Party is looking for me)
Yeah, in your face Iphone ! Apple never ran out of them !
No, seriously, Nokia ran out of N900 because they didn't see it coming. They think they make great phones every time, so they just planned like it was another of their phones in that price range. Only, this time, it's not slow and full of bugs like the N9{5,6,7}, so people are buying it.
You get perfectly good coverage in the Paris underground too. The lack of technology pisses me off so much when I want to make a phone call in the London-we're-still-in-the-1890's-tube...
Come on, Dr. Sheldon Cooper, we all know it's you behind the lame nickname !
(Great punchline to episode 18 though !)

wow! excuse my previous spelling, it seems I was thinking about early post more than about making sense...
Is there such a thing as privacy at the digital age?
Can someone follow all your whereabouts with your electronic traces?
Yes, they can !

So does offline GMail... M$ 1 - 1 Google
What did *you* see in your flash forward ?

if posted on /. it's possible they will even loose count...
after all, posting something here is the best DDOS attack on websites! =)
There's a source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiscal_year#United_Kingdom
To be absolutely precise, the tax year starts on April 1st for corporations and government agencies, April 6th for individuals.

That's a Terry Pratchett quote. Interesting times if my memory doesn't fail me...
No, they're stupid socialist pigs. And for that, they deserve the sort of compassion you would reserve for the retarded.
Are you implying that socialist = retard? \o/ in my arms \o/
