Unfortunately I have to agree with this. When I started working for my present company, I was 21, and still kind of green. After A year and a half of not being taken seriously, I decided that no one was going to respect me for what I had done. At this point I started getting a serious attitude. As soon as I ripped some people apart techincally, I started to garner respect among my co-workers. After a year and a half of this, I no longer have to be quite as aggressive about defending myself, but I do still have to be ready to become aggressive at a moment's notice.I am 24 now, but I expect that when I move to another company, I am going to have to be cocky and aggressive throughout the interview process, and in the subsequent years at the company. I can only hope that this will get easier as I approach 30
Progressive Intuitive Logical Errata Stacks.
a system that involves placing individual pieces of errata (paper, mt. dew bottles, parts, etc.) upon your desk until there is no usable workspace in non computer and monitor bearing surfaces
As a Michigan Resident, the thig that scares me the most about this is that they are removing any monetary damage limit.. From what I can see the infamous/. effect could be construed as hacking....
I am also wondering how they would enforce the law in a case like that
I will probably be flamed for saying this, but look to some of the Larger Unix Vendors (SUN/IBM/HP) for hardware and software. Try teaching the students how to install and administrate an industrial strength *Nix system. I know for sure IBM has a good site at http://www.ibm.com/education. If you are looking for a cheaper solution, look at sun's website for solaris x86. Unfortunately at the present time, these would be better real-world preparation than linux
Otherwise known as a "Clue-by-Four", or just a big, heavy stick!! Actually I am a 6'0" 295 lb sysadmin with a bad attitude, but my LART is actually a 2' length of 7/8" coax cable with a stainless barrel connector at the end damn, knew I should post more, submitted with the wrong passwd...hehe
everyone keeps talking about AOL/Time-Wasnet, but how about AT&T/MediaOne?? the FTC is making them sell off part of their Cable Internet access to keep them under the 30% rule
IBM and Sun should seriously consider porting their AIX and Solaris to Itanium At least IBM has been there, done that, and shelved the outcome
ok....this is OT and all, but shouldn't it be "When I want your opinion I'll beat it into you"??
Texas also requires a thumbprint to get a drivers license
What was next? AIX? Ummm...AIX went 64bit in 1998 with release 4.3
