  4. Re:Here's the solution on Tide of International Science Moving Against US, EU · · Score: 1

The fact that this is even possible indicates to me that there exists an inequity problem that NEEDS to be corrected through taxation.

The inequity problem the US has is an unequal distribution of work ethic. Taxation only redistributes money, not work ethic. Your "solution" isn't really a solution at all.

Sure, the 70's weren't so great when taxes were at 70%. But the 50's were pretty good when the top income bracket rate was 91%. So maybe the key is to get it back up to 91%.

The tax code in the 50s also contained a lot more loopholes through which to slip, allowing high income earners to shield a higher prcentage of their income from taxation. Wanna bring those back, too? I didn't think so.

I think the key is to make people who espouse Marxist economic theory to identify themselves, so we can tax them at 100%, minus the bare minimum they need to live on, and see how that works for a while....

...both examples of which are completely irrelevant. The issue at hand is RIGHTS. The American people have a RIGHT to keep and bear arms. This right is not supposed to be subjected to infringement. If you support its infringement for the "protection" of children (or anyone else), then you have no business complaining about other rights being infringed for the same reason.

For 70+ years you damn gun-banners have been sitting back while the federal and state governments have been passing all kinds of restrictions on the 2nd Amendment. "I don't own a gun, so I don't care" you fools said. And the NRA warned you: when the 2nd Amendment goes, the rest won't be far behind. What did we get for our trouble? We get called "Right-wing Extremists," "Alarmists," and "paranoid gun nuts." Well guess what? We were right. They're here for the First Amendment.

You slappy bastards might not own guns, but you sure like your free porn, dontcha? Damn right you do.....I'll give you lefties this: you got nerve. It takes a lot of sand to use the old "...it's for the children..." saw to try to take my guns, but then whine when the same excuse is used to ban your porn. Hell with you; I'm not lifting a finger to help. After all, I don't sit around jerking off to nudie pics.

As far as I know, it isn't based off of anything. You haven't heard of it because you are probably in the "under-25" crowd. LISP isn't really good for much, outside of artificial intelligence or other heuristical analysis-type applications. AutoCAD used to make extensive use of LISP for user-written scripts; in fact, it still has built-in LISP functionality, but as with most other CAD packages, those functions have probably been translated to C by now....

One of the guys I shoot IPSC competition with got one a couple months ago. First, you have to find a Class III firearms dealer and put down a deposit on the Uzi of your choice. They usually provide you with the paperwork. You have to go to your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer (the Sheriff), get fingerprinted, file some paperwork with him, send the fingerprint form, some other paperwork, and the $300 tax to the ATF where they perform a background check. 9-12 months later, if the background check comes back clean, they send you the tax stamp. Then you get to take delivery of the firearm. The Uzi my friend had is also equipped with a silenced barrel, which requires an additional tax stamp, but it's different; more like $50, I think he said. You may be thinking of an Executive Order ex-President Bush signed, which basically said "No new machine guns," but existing Class III devices can still be transferred.
