Hate to admit it, but I am a MMORPG fanatic. I have played every major release to date (except AC1). Each game had it's strengths and weaknesses. SWG biggest weakness is it's extremly boring gameplay. While Shadowbane might have bugs galore and mearly adequate graphics, the game is exciting. SWG has the eye candy a plenty, but I speant way more time in SWG beta trying to log into Shadowbane than in playing SWG. Hopefully Verant and co. can make this game more compelling, but for now, why pay $50 and %15/month for a yawner when I can be bored for free.
Check out Neverwinter Nights from Bioware. It is not strictly a MMORPG (No centralized server), but has other advantages. They are saying that it will be release for Win, Mac, Linux and BeOS and you can run your own world server. I've read that the server tools might just be for Win, but the game will run on Linux just fine.
The music industry is a farce and everybody with half a brain knows it. If success could be boiled down to talent and hard work, then I might be inclined to agree with you a little bit. Look at Brittany Spears, Tiffany, Vanilla Ice, etc... The list is very long. These "entertainers" have about as much musical talent as my dog, but the industry makes them stars because of their image. The real musicians out there, and I know many very talented ones, are not concerned with money, but with music. They live music and want people to enjoy it. You are obviously not a musician, but more probably a greedy industry pawn. If you are a musician for any reason other than the love of music, then you are betraying yourself and everyone who listens to the noise you produce.
You are obviously not an American. If you were, then you would know that the vast majority of gun owners and enthusiasts (myself included) view the groups you cite with as much contempt as you do. By showing your ignorance with such a general statement, you have invalidated your entire argument by engaging in the same uninformed rhetoric as the groups you criticize. Roman_Legion
