Maybe so, but it still should be legal.

Correct. Only that which directly harms another should be illegal.

same-sex marriage doesn't harm any one except denying it does create a group of second class citizens and how many States have legalized prejudice by sexual preference? I wish more people would use the same rule you just cited as a guide to what should be illegal. then maybe my sister could marry who she wants to, just as I have.

Of course Japanese cars of today are beyond reproach. Right? They've got that whole stop-go thing worked out perfectly.

have you noticed that all these car problems are with automatic cars? if the car was a manual, the driver would just push the clutch in and poof, the car is no longer accelerating. and people think I'm silly for insisting on a manual transmission car. but to get a manual hybrid, you have to get a used car from 2004-2005 when the last hybrid-manual transmission was made. I haven't looked at the hybrids ford has come out with, though. ------------------ but, in ref to the original topic. I want one of those!

and as I understand the way copyright currently works, if a piece of code DOES the same thing, it's infringement. different language isn't a valid defense. but, Microsoft has stolen code before and not changed it just added it as is. Personally, I'll be REALLY happy if the Supreme Court does rule that software is not patentable and is free like free speech (i.e. it still requires some responsibility on your part and your can't just yell in the middle of a public place that someone is an effing when there are no facts) but that's my 2 cents.

As in Transparent Aluminum? sorry about the Star Trek reference, but that was the first thing I saw when I read this. I do find it interesting that another concept from a Sci-Fi show is being made real. Anti-grav would be nice, transporters? well, I wouldn't trust a machine to put my molecules back in the correct places.
