The thing about educational games are that alot of people dismiss them simply because they are educational.
I'd say that the focus should not be about the game being educational in itself, but rather making people more interested in educational topics. There is no real need to "trick" them into learning things they should be learning in class, i would rather say that it is their motivation to study hard in class that needs to be raised rather than directly teaching.
